Fixture list as played and still to play.
23/1 : Hungary beat 3:0
looking back on this game now tactically all over the place - learning curve number 1.
30/1 : Australia beat 5:1
Aye - still think i was a little unlucky in this game in that the team seemed to implode for 20 mins. Tactic was getting better apart from defensively. Best team won really.
06/2 : Hayastan win 2:0
Red card in 54mins didnt help the cause. Good solid win for the team but still tactics need tweaking.
13/2 : Iceland u19s win 3:0
Comfortable win - should have been more in my opinion.
20/2 : Iran win 6:0
A game that worried me for historical reasons but ended up quite comfortable in the end.
27/2 : Israel beat 1:0
I think a 1-0 defeat here was actually a decent result. They have some very tidy players and a manager that knows his tactics pretty good. The banter on the forums was fun and shall not be the last time things like this get used.
06/3 : Bosnia win 5:3
As reekie said "rtg has arrived". Terrific result - i felt great after this - pushing up the defence a region helped (thanks ally) all in all we beat a bigger nation in this game.
13/3 : Bulgaria beat 4-1
BOOOM back down to earth. A much better team than us all over the park - in essence i cant really argue with this result.
20/3 : Malaysia win 5:0
After last weeks pummeling i went into this game nervous. Going with the 3-4-3 was indeed a risk and it paid of in the first half anyway. Being caught off side so much is something that has to be addressed.
27/3 : Belarus
03/4 : Slovenija
10/4 : Russia
17/4 : England
24/4 : Macedonia
01/5 : Indonesia
08/5 : hong kong
Rankings
A very interesting area for the u21s at the moment. The world cup qualifiers for next season will be based on the ranking points gained within this seasons friendlies. Currently we are sitting at number 42 (we went down this week despite a 5-0 win). I feel that it will take at least 3 seasons for the u21 rankings to actually level out to be true rankings i.e. look who is number 1 in the rankings :D.
Azerbijan are effectively number 1 as they have not been beaten - however look who they have played. So going into the world cup this team shall be in pot A. There shall be teams like this in pot B, C and so on. It will certainly make for some interesting groups.
All in all the first half of the campaign has been excellent for me. Ive learned a helluva lot and still have a lot to learn imo. We now have over 70 players held within the database, some may never make it but tracking their progress at u21 is a must - you never know who might turn out to be your superstar.
Any questions fire away and i shall attempt to answer them.

Nice overview rtg.
The U21 rankins is idd a bit strange, but let's hope we will have some 'easy' teams in our group next season.

big applause to the 38 managers who have updated their players since training yesterday. Got to say that has been the biggest update in one day since ive taken over. Well done all.

ok we were scheduled to play slovenia this week but due to me not logging in over the weekend they panic'd and booked elsewhere (annoyed). I have advertised to see who else has been let down. No doubt it will be poland
I'm still waiting on a certain Peruvian user, been here before me thinks. Starting to get a bit concerned.
