Subject: The Run In

2009-04-06 10:41:30
rtg [del] to All
with only 2 games to go the nerves are shot to pieces, who to play, where to play them, what tactic to use?

My game - pffft what team to pick thats about it, oh wait no its not even that at the moment. For me div 1 next season is a must.

The run in for me in each of the 5 top leagues.

Premier

Champions - A victory for Suttie shall see him crowned Premier champion for the 160th time this week.

Relegation
Will YoYo manage to avoid the auto drop? Do they want to? Its make or break week for Ally as they play AFC, although some would say his make or break week was last week playing against 2nd bottom Bruce City who fought hard for a 1-1 draw

1st Div 01

Champions

Its a 3 way race for the title between Bonnyton, Caledonian and Millside. With Millside beating Caledonian and Bonnyton dropping 2 points this week has the title swing in favour of Millside?

With Millside up next to play Bonnyton its the tie of the week, followed by Bonnyton playing Caledonia in the last week of the season. Its all to play for in this tough league.

Relegation

A battle between Pathetic Sharks and Juventic which shall be decided this week in the head to head encounter. Who will get the auto boot and who may just be prolonging the agony with a devastating play off game?

1st Div 02

Champions
Hibees have romped this division winning it out the park. With only 1 draw are they on there way up to the premier via the auto spot or are they in the perilous play off place?

Relegation

Heartburnian, Pluto chills and Magus scrap it out. This could all be decided this week when magus take on heartburnian. A victory for heartburn will all but sign Magus to relegation.

1st Div 03

Champions

Rangers 90 have a 4 point lead over East Stirlingshire who they play this week. A draw would be enough to see Rangers90 crowned champions. With 2 draws on the board already for Rangers they are looking towards a play off spot to make it into the premier.

Relegation

Its freestying footballers vs Patchies Eleven in the fight against auto relegation. In true sokker style this shall be almost certainly decided on the last day of this season.

1st Div 04

Champions
The hoops once again romp division 4 winning the league over 3 weeks ago. This team are in the same boat as Hibees with only one draw to their name which oddly enough happened last week. A narrow 3-2 victory over lowly johns boys suggest that this team are looking to avoid the auto promotion spot.

Relegation

This week sees Airdrie play Shankly's select to decide who takes the walk of shame down to division 2.

An interesting 2 weeks shall produce all the what ifs, buts, maybees, dodgy refereeing, injuries, red cards and more importantly streakers to decide the outcome of this seasons league ties.

Good luck to all.

As it stands at the top

YoYo replaced by The Hibees
Bruce City v The Hoops
AFC NMYT v Rangers-90
FC Hangover v Bonnyton Rangers FC

That can and probably will all change though so dont go scouting your possible opponents quite yet!

As for me,2 wins are needed to be sure of a play off and i doubt that it'll happen so i've already got plans made for life in the first. The aim will be to bounce straight back up. Heh, i wouldn't be a yoyo otherwise :)

"A narrow 3-2 victory over lowly johns boys suggest that this team are looking to avoid the auto promotion spot."

RTG, my squad are most offended at your comments!

You seem to be suggesting that The Hoops played their reserve team last night. I have just checked what the Hoops starting line up was against Kinross & 8 of them started last night. Of the 3 who didn't start 2 of them were injured & the other one has been replaced by the Hoops record signing. It was hardly a weakened team.

If you want to know the week where the Hoops played a weakened team check out last week where only 3 players out of the 11 who started against Kinross started the game & that finished 3-3.

So my boys think they deserve some credit for that narrow defeat!! :)
2009-04-06 14:24:38
lmao sorry about that - i was guessing with the past results against them that he was once again to "chicken" to go up to the premier ;). Well done on the narrow defeat :D

In the Second Division.12, next weekends game is vital, as I face kw's in a top of the table clash.

I got a bit of luck last night coming back from 1-0 down to win 2-1, as I've just changed my tactics in an attempt to play this game correctly. Not sure if they've worked well or not.

It's amazing how your priorities change over the course of a season - at the start of this one, I'd have been happy with second place. Now I'm desperate to auto-promote.

Opened a can of worms there RTG eh? lol, assuming......

All i am saying is i had 2 of my best players missing through injuries, i have played a 3-4-3 all season except aganst my biggest rivals when i play a 3-5-2 and last night i tweaked my tactics which sucked big time. My keeper and one of my defenders are out of form, i dont have a fit def/mid...

Good result for the John boys last night, very unlucky, look forward to next seasons fixtures where i might start playing a 3-5-2 against you ;-)
2009-04-07 01:15:23
watch out for the mighty ( lol ) AFC POLMONT next season !

im gonna play 4-4-2 every week and see what happens :)
2009-04-13 04:20:11
Well, I lost my match tonight (or yesterday, if we want to be specific and all that jazz - alcohol affects all), so auto-promotion is out of the question.

Ah well, such is life.......
2009-04-13 06:50:07
my team secured 5th spot in the league which i am pleased with

but with only 14 days till the play off the form loss by the squad is worring

-16 since i loaded up SO last week
2009-04-13 08:49:21
suttie wins the premier........again!!
2009-04-13 10:38:19
..again? Makes it sound like he won it last year. He was a distant second to a magnificent Terrors team and only just held on to second in front of a mediocre to good Clowns team. ;)
2009-04-13 18:16:20
yeah... whats with the "again" :P

this was a very hard fought victory to get back the title from the Terrors. ;)
2009-04-14 12:43:00
Just had a look at who I'm scheduled to play if the playoffs were just now - can't see me winning that game.

Another season in the Second Division seems to be beckoning.....
2009-04-14 13:03:39
im heading up to div 1.01, looking forward to getting some fans in just for them to leave in their thousands again after the 9th humping...or maybe not :)
