ok i have seen many youngsters coming through this season and obviously their managers have their training plans for them but i thought it would be a good idea to get an agreement on how to train certain players while they are still young. Once an agreement has been reached (IF) then i intend to open up a seperate thread on "how to train a talented youngster". SO... all players starting ages are 17 for the sake of this discussion.
Keeper
Starting skills keeper very good, pace very good and passing very good.
Would you... batter up keeper to divine then go to pace then to passing OR would you up keeper a level then switch to pace then back to keeper then pace then passing then keeper?
The evenly based youth - EVERY skill is very good. How would you train them to be
a) Central Defender
b) Wing back
c) Defensive Middie
d) Winger
e) Offensive Middie
f) Striker
for me
a) defender up to incredible, then pace to incredible then back to defender to divine. Once that its a combo of pace, passing and pm
b) actually probably for me the same as a)
c) PM up to incredible, pace up to incredible, tech up a few levels then back to PM to divine then pump the defence, pace and tech.
d) Pace up to incredible with PM and passing alternating up to incredible. Then a combo of pace and tech.
e) PM, pace and passing in that order up to incredible. Then it would be onto tech, pace, passing and PM in that order.
f) For me - pace and tech up to incredible then it would be onto striker to divine. For me a divine striker with no pace or tech is pretty much useless.
What say thee? Lets see if we can come to some sort of concensus which will aid future trainers of our future stars to be able to produce the best.

i would say that you should focus on PACE as soon as possible as that takes the longest to train.
At an early age, training pace is quite tolerable, but training pace at older ages is really slow, whilst training other skills at that older age is ok.
for example, my lad Tanislovas Varaneckas, at the age of 25 had the following pops:
-> DIVINE passing: 8 weeks (+7 general training) - total ~9 weeks training
-> MAGICAL tech: 4 weeks (+ 34 general training) - total ~8.25 weeks training
-> BRILLIANT pm: 5 weeks (+ 18 general training) - total ~7.25 weeks training
-> UNEARTHLY pace: 7 weeks (+28 general training) - total ~10.5 weeks training
It seems that the difference between normal training and pace training at older ages is increased.

With all starting skills at very good then I'd go the complete opposite way with C, the def/mid. imo he is there to break up attacks so i'd focus on pace and defending before training pm, passing or tech.
Offensive mids i'd also train differently, passing and tech would be first to raise before pace and pm.

For striker training you should get pace up young...but tech should not fall more than 2 levels behind as this can lead to injury etc so 16 - 20 should be pace + tech then at an older age 20+ focus on the players striking!!!
