rtg [del] to All
is back up and running as far as i can see - there will be issues that will arise due to me reading the code wrong or something daft like that.

Dream Team

can any of the users who used to use this possibly list why it is a good tool to use please?

I can see why the NT and U21 tool is extremely helpful but not really sure why its of any use to the normal user.

I agree that its best use is for the NT side of things (by the way... is there any way you can write a script just for scotland that retrieves data on all Scottish players in Sokker, and not just on those players in the leagues you have included for updating. e.g. there may be some scottish star being trained up by a Polish team languishing in the darker regions of the lower divisions).

However, its also a great way of tracking how your team stands up against the others in your league/country/or against everyone, by showing such things as the players with top rating in each position by league/country/all non-polish leagues/all leagues.

I personally like this so that it allows me to compare my team against the top teams in sokker to see how i stand up.
I particularly like the "Full table" feature for ALL / ALL (No Polska) leagues. This feature is not working in your Dream Team yet. This feature has always used a lot of resources and taken a long time to generate the page.
Maybe you could consider that instead of generating this table everytime someone requests it, you could generate it once each week after Dream Team has been updated and then when people request it they get this static table thats been pre-generated.
Its only the Full table for the All / All (No Polska) selection that requires crazy resources. Polska might also be like this too, though i've never tried. You could leave the other league tables to be generated upon request as they are done now.

i like your thinking batman. I will put that on the list of things to do.

Right now i have managed to add the cup rounds to the DT - unfortunately while i now can drag the data down i cannot display it (week 0 problems). However the next round of the cup shall be able to get downloaded. Then i get into interesting times as i will then have 2 lots of data for week 1. Will it tuff the figures up for player ranks? Time will only tell.

I will check the all (no polska) out later - i suspect its a daft syntax issue as there has been quite a few of them so far.

p.s. all countries cups not done yet as i need to enter them manually into the database.

oh... the "Top Scorers", "Top Shooters" and "Top Assisters" feature are not working. They all direct you to some sort of "Top Scorers" page for everyone. Even if you specify you want just scotland, or just your league, or even Assists, it still gives you the same.

no probs i will look into that after finishing this :D

SCOTLANDS VALUABLE PLAYERS
SCOTLANDS U21 VALUABLE PLAYERS

this ineffect will give the NT manager a list of 100 players with the highest value in this entire game.

P.S. i need to sort the value out - i think it is in polish values. (bloody typical)

ok forgetting the stupid values for now - i reckon this would be better if i split it up into the top 20 most valuable players per last position played? What say thee?

ok suttie that is the top blah's fixed. Keep the issues coming mate.....

p.s. you may like the heading given to the "top shooters" :D
2009-05-07 17:52:14
ok Scotland NT now lists the top 10 keepers and top 20 players in each other position - this is sorted on value and it should show a player in his last position played (in a competitive game).

I know for a fact i am missing players in the u21s for example Blair Clarke isnt there. Im hoping that after this weekends games ALL the players from sokker land (obviolusy they have to play) shall be in this database.

Players Values and form are updated every night at the moment (waste of time i know but its done automatically while most of us sleep).

lol!! ;)

and good work with the top scot lists :D
But can i suggest a couple of things.
Can you change the currency to pounds?
For the top scots list, would the team name be of use?
It would be helpful to include the player age, especially for the U21 list.
You could also create separate list for each age group from 16, through to 21.

working on that - if there is some clever clogs who knows the formula then let me know.

team name - hmmm not really sure tbh - will take peoples view on it tho.

Player age to be included is fine i will do that.

Seperating the age groups. hmmmmm remember we use the NT Dbase as well and that shows that info and allows us to see the players skills.

I see this as a catch the unknown players tool, no?
2009-05-07 18:07:43
and how about also have an option to rank players by rating?
2009-05-07 18:16:39
yip i did think about that but that is what the dreamteam pages do already ;)

i.e. Last season Round 11 stats

true... but it has holes where it misses those scots which are in lower league teams.

This way we have 2 ways to catch the scots. By value or by rank.

But as you said, there will still be players missing. If it works the same way as the normal dreamteam search, it'll only capture those players who played the full 90 minutes in the league match.

Those players who play in friendlies or only as a sub would not be captured.

Ah see the friendly issue i aim to rectify - i have included the cups this year (hopefully).

I never knew coming on a sub didnt show tho - that HAS to be recitifed. Does it not count as a competitive game if they come on as sub?

oh... another thing i always wished muhklionu would have implemented which would be easy.

In the National U21 Dream Team page it is possible to filter for age by changing the URL in the navigation pane.

If you leave it as "&u21=1" then the page shows players aged 21 and younger.
If you change it to "&u21=2" then the page shows players aged 20 and younger.
If you change it to "&u21=3" then the page shows players aged 19 and younger.
If you change it to "&u21=4" then the page shows players aged 18 and younger.
If you change it to "&u21=5" then the page shows players aged 17 and younger.

Could you help everyone out and add a link to all of those on the main Dream Team page.
I don't think many people know about the trick above, and its so easy to implement this change, all the info is already there.
2009-05-07 18:32:47
it does in sokker... but in dream team it has always ignore those players coming on/going off as a sub.

not sure about red cards... can't remember.
