Well damian should be man enough to talk with us then. He clearly afraid I might ban him from the game.

By the way, vacation on Bahamas sounds really nice.

Is this telling us your mood is likely improving, just extremely slowly (at sub level), but hasn't increased enough to move to the next level yet?

I think the sponser money is more connected to the club ranking than the supporters mood.
2009-06-23 00:28:02
Im not against the new concept. Just reckon its too volitile at the moment. I believe its trying to make fan bases closer with others in the league your in. So if you have teams in your league with much lower fan bases than yours, your going to be hit hardest. But its too savage...

Some of these points already are implemented. This is how I think it should work to be fair for ALL.

1) I believe fan mood should live between levels "3. are depressed" and "6. are delighted with their club`s performance". Pretty much as the new system.

2) I believe level jump from 6. to "7. are madly in love with their club" should only be achievable by a number of 'good' results (say 3, depending on how good they were) or by promotion or winning top league. Similarly levels from level 3 to "2. are losing hope" and from level 2 to "1. are furious" should only be reached by a series of 'bad' results or by relegation (straight to bottom). This would be much much fairer. Basically if you hit rock bottom with this 'buffering' idea,

3) Winning the top league should be like a Promotion - fan mood goes max. Currently I don't think winning the top league does anything to fan mood.

4) Relegation should put fan mood to bottom mood.

Basically I think Its crazy to have fan moods hitting rock bottom so easily as we have at the moment, then your more likely to have deserved it.

Im not sure if it should be easy to move from the low levels once you are there. I can see arguments both ways for it being easy ish or hard.

agreed there, that definitely makes sense.

Really not getting this mood thing.

A 1-1 friendly draw dropped my mood, then an 8-0 friendly win didn't change it, now a 7-1 friendly win against a tougher opponent didn't change it (last years 8th best team in Scotland).

I don't understand why that is deemed not good enough. Yet a 1-1 draw promptly dropped the mood.

Its extremely hard going.

A reply from Greg:

That team is 2 classes better that any othere teams in league. If Barcelona was relegated to amateur league it is obvious supporters would leave despite winning everything.

BTW: all examples above, excluding rtg, would look similar in old mood system, or any sensible mood system. It is not problem of mood system as it worked correctly, but just problem that people always expect more for their team. They would complain even if system was not changed at all, but there was just an info, even if system was best of bests.

PS: As mentioned above, I have checked many matches, all mood increase/decrease after match is well balaced on thausands of scores of previous matches. Simply - if your supporters mood dropped down it means you have got worse score than usually similar class teams achieve with such rival.

If Barcelona was relegated to amateur league it is obvious supporters would leave despite winning everything.

Firstly, if Barcelona were to drop to the amateur league i doubt very much that fans would leave weekly. They may take a massive hit initially but those who stick around and watch their team win each week would keep returning.

Secondly and no offence intended to rtg but to compare Gartcairn to Barcelona is ludicrous. rtg hasn't competed in the top league and has only relegated one level.

see thats my issue here. I am 2 classes above any team in my league. WHY? I have been here for 2 seasons - yes i can understand it in the first season but not the second. This shows an issue with how the "class" is calculated on past results.

Lets take a real life example as greg has done....lets take oh i dont know maybe Notts Forrest or even better Charlton.

Charlton were a premiership team under the reign of curbishely. They established themselves in the premier and now find themselves in the old division 3 (i think). Does this team still get classed as a premier league team?? do they hell as their money income doesnt reflect that utter ridiculous class.

Thats what has to be sorted imo.

Gartcairn are in no way shape or form an SPL class team. No offense intented.

They are at best a mid table First Division Team who unfortunately missed out on promotion last season after a close play off against a similar classs of team. So its not unkown territory for rtg to be in Division 2. The reason he wins every week is he is up against newbs or bots, Which is not his fault. Its because we don't have any strong Division 2s. Not really.

So my resent 7-1 win against YoYo or 8-0 against Eagles isn't good enough, becasue other teams would beat them by a lot more, hmm!

Not convinced the balance is correct. Its maybe a bigger problem for smaller Nations like Scotland, not enough of our leagues are filled with similar class of teams.

But in TT v YoYo's case is a decent battle. As they beat me last season and peviously have had good results against me and plenty other SPL teams.

I will soldier on, but don't get the harshness.

Bottom line.

Friendlies between teams of different class is becoming a hindrance. Which is a shame.

I wouldn't mind if friendlies just didn't influence mood atall, that would be perfectly fine.

Just I know they do as my mood dropped after drawing one.
2009-06-25 10:51:09
Nice to get a reply from Greg. Any chance we could get a breakdown of how this 'class' is worked out.

Or generally a proper insight into how strength of Team A v Team B is calculated. And what to expect fans will react like to positive/negative results for a close match, mismatch and one in between the two extremes.

This would nail a lot of the problem. Unknowns annoy people! If we got this message and we were told, thats the way it is. At least we'd know what we were dealing with and could take appropriate educated action when booking friendlies.
2009-06-25 11:09:41
maybe there should be a club line before your game Dandy.......it would read something like (1st round of the cup).

Tartan Terrors Supporters Page.

The supporters expect a 10009-0 win or else we will be no happy.
