rtg [del] to All
Sorry folks for not posting about the moldova game. Shocking - my time is being taken up with the dreamteam website and my work has just went mental on me. All in all a decent enough win. The next 2 games are against Austria. I will hopefully be able to post some thoughts on these matches later in the week. Tho with the way my work has went, culmanated by going on holiday on Thursday i will be lucky to have time to set the team.

i didnt realise how much time was required for this NT malarky and its looking like i dont have enough time to do it.

Sorry about that. Lets hope for some luck against Austria as on paper they are miles better than us.

Good luck you are doing a great job I think, we have a similar issue this week when we face Holland who are 7 points on average better than us. Hopefully we can both pull performances from somewhere and get qualified. ;)

ive mailed you 3 times in the last week regarding players etc and you aint replied once ? . nothing against you but ive noticed you never seem to switch tactics for the big games , and if you aint gonna be around to set up for the mighty austria what happens if we get an injury mid week :(

In fairness, I had a very small exposure to the U21 demands when I won that competition to pick the side, and doing just that alone took a fair amount of time.

I'd imagine that would lessen as you got to know the players, but adding in constant scouting of new talent, checking out opponents, running community based projects, etc etc and I can see why it takes up so much time.

RTG is doing well just now, and has put in place a lot of things that will outlast his U21 management and help future incumbents. That's really all that can be asked, in my opinion.

well im just worried that austria embarass us . i mean look at them !!!

its a must win for us and the manager is saying he is struggling to get online to set up a team ? cmon man we gotta win and if he aint online we are doomed , DOOMED i tell you !!!!!!!
2009-06-14 22:04:30
as for the dream team website , it seems to log him in to sokker even when he aint online !!! omg , rtg is helping other countries but aint even bothered with his role of U21 NT manager ???

surely the austrains must be laughing at us , we will get hammered lads :(

I've sk mailed rtg to raise similar concerns, i'll let you know if he replies.

He does seem busy with the dream team site though.

ffs i need to fly out to the darkest pits of africa tonight guys. I have quickly set the team as normal along with the normal tactics. We should have the players to at least keep the score down to a draw if possible. I only hope none of the players get injured tonight.

i am hopping all over africa so will be spending most of my time in planes and running from lions and the other natives so will have absolutely no internet connection.

Should be back for next week some time (maybe)

just had a thought in circumstances like this is it possible to give someone access to my account to set the team?
2009-06-17 13:22:34
there was a discussion on that a while back.

I think there are 2 ways to do it.

1) on the sly. The other guy has got to make sure he avoids using the same PC for your account (i'd suggest use an internet cafe, give him keys to your house, etc).

2) the other method, which i'm not 100% certain on, is that you could possibly ask the mods if you could give your team to another user just to do the basics like acepting friendlies, pulling youths and setting lines. I remember that it came out that a number of Polish managers had been doing this (i.e. sharing teams with mod consent), and that the rest of the sokker world got pissed off as we were told we couldn't do this. Can't really recall what came out of the whole thing.

Im sure you can for a limit period, as long as you let admins now. To cover holidays etc.

As long as your not in the same league.

Im sure I spotted it in the rules somewhere. See if I can dig it up.

SHARING OF TEAMS / LOGGING IN AS OTHER USERS

Teams in Sokker are to be controlled by one user and not shared or logged into by other people
- In extreme situations where an owner is not able to log into their team for an extended period and a clear need for maintenance of the team (ie months for military service or hospitalization), admins may be contacted (admins@sokker.org) to make an exception to this rule for a specific period of time.
- In the case that an exception is made, the person "sitting" for the other user may ONLY set match orders (based on previously created tactics by the normal manager) and reject and pull juniors.
- The sitter cannot bid on or sell any player (except selling juniors), post or send any message, or make any action meant to harm or give advantage to any team.
- In the case that the owner is also the NT coach, the permission should be know publicly and may only include the actions needed to let the NT play their matches. Alternatively, admins could set up a new NT elections if necessary.
- The owner will have to change the password after he is back in control of the team.
- No team may ever sit for a team in the same league as they are.
