This might seem like a Newbie topic, but actually as no one actually knows this and we all have something to learn from it, i've stuck it in here.

There is a really interesting topic in Sokker International at the moment which kind of took me by surprise, but is something i can use to improve my training.

The topic is called percentage of training, and the key info is on page number 4.

To make it easier for you, i'll post the important bits here:

Some of you might have missed it so I will repeat what greg said:

For a player to receive full training he has to play 2x90 minutes.
The training percentage degenerates per played minute!
90 minutes + 10 minutes is therefore not 100%.

For instance:
Playing 2x45 minutes is more training percentage than playing 1x90.
Noone knows how it is calculated though :(

-------------------------

As said:
Training percentage degenerates per played minute in a match.

Lets make numbers up:
He plays 20 minutes in the league match = 20%
He plays 40 minutes in the league match = 38% (no 40% because it degenerates)
He plays 45 minutes in the league match = 42%
He plays 60 minutes in the league match = 52%
He plays 80 minutes in the league match = 70%
He plays 90 minutes in the league match = 75%

So two matches each 45 minutes are more than one match 90 minutes.
I made up this numbers to show you what degeneration means.
They are pure fiction only based on what greg said would be the case.

so it does seem to make sense to at least swap some trainees at half time to improve training a bit.

Wish i knew this earlier....

I followed that discussion at the time and never believed it then and find it hard to swallow now.

According to the rules..

A player who played in the same position (ie, as a def) twice during the week will train better than one who played in only one game. Similarly, a player who played in an official match will train better than one who just played in a friendly. If a player played in two different positions during the week, the last match counts. The benefit of playing a player with the same match order twice is small - they will receive near full training by playing 1 match. If they play only in an international, they will receive around 33% of the normal training. Players do not receive training in extra time as they are too tired.

Even if true, the 90 minutes from one match is sufficient for training purposes and getting 10 mids trained a week. No idea what 90 mins of a friendly equates to percentage wise(I've always thought around 90%) but it's enough to see players popping every 2 weeks in some cases and at decent levels too.

previously, i've also worked on the basis that:
League Cup Match = 95% training
Friendly Match = 90% training

Now, if we play a lad for 45 mins in the league match and 45 mins in the friendly match, it "might" = 97% training.
on the other hand those numbers could be well off the mark, who knows?

But i'll be training up Evert Eben in 2 half matches a week from now on to just give him that little extra training.

i read it as well mate and thought the boy was losing it when he started decrementing the percentages by whatever he felt.

Yep, there's also the contradiction which he freely admits that both scenarios cant possibly be true.

1. Players receive more training by playing 2 x 45 minutes

2. Training is based on minutes played per week, not per match with the training degenerating per minute.

Loop claims that Greg told him the above is true but admits that if 2 was true then 1 couldn't possibly be because when the player came out for his 2nd appearance it would actually be his 46th minute and therefore training for that minute would be less than the 45th etc.

Hope i've explained that ok cos it's complicated enough to me and i typed it!
