Subject: [u21] Austria Vs Scotland

Following the result 2 weeks it leaves us in the position that a draw will keep a good enough gap between ourselves and Austria. With a 4 point cushion it gives us a decent chance of qualification (tho there are still hard games to follow).

I set the tactic for this game ome time ago as most of you are aware its a shut up shop situation. Once again it will be a case of closing down the winger(s) that they shall no doubt play and to push our 1 man up front down one side very wide again to combat the 5 central defenders.

The team hasnt been picked yet and i will probably wait until tomorrow to do so - im still waiting on a few updates and need to run a form sweep of the team when i get home tonight (the vodafone mobile connection i have times out if i try to run it).

A loss in this game and pole position sweeps back to Austria with their superior goal difference so this to me is the more important game than 2 weeks ago.

Game time tomorrow night shall be 19:30 SK time (18:30) our time - i am due to go out on the tiles (coach end of season "meeting") at half seven so i may be late for that - just shows you what is needed as an NT/U21 coach - you need to miss the first few rounds on a night out - im not sure if i want to continue with this job lol.

ok on to the team its wing wing wing wing with Lex Thompson firing down the line on the left and Darren (ok he is injured but its only a 3 day injury so worth the risk).

Anyone else think that MacDowall was the man of the match? 2 assists and he also setup another 4 glorious chances the strikers squandered.

I've always liked MacDowall :)

Dont know much about about Valentine but i thought he also opened up their defence a bit today. If only Clarke had had his shooting boots on today we could have had that match won by half time :(

thanks people. before the game i would have settled for a draw. However after this game i feel robbed anyway its now as tight as normal although its now in my hands to qualify. win every game from now on and we qualify. we can afford to lose against finland., however i want revenge on this team as i believe we can beat them
