tenkava [del] to All
most of the people posting in here seem to be from another planet with all the stats and training updates and formidable youth pulls etc, so from a novice please can someone tell me how do i realise which will be decent trainees from the dross that i continually seem to be given.ie charlie mcglumpher adequate 16 weeks, does this mean it will take me 16 weeks to get him to adequate? also i have promoted a couple of trainees who had either good or solid against them, but damn when i promoted, the best any of the 2 of them had was average where does the good or solid fit in ? btw the 16 y.o is on the market now if anyone interested, seems to be getting some interest a.t.m. and i genuinely have no idea if he is a prospect or not, but at least he`s young.

charlie mcglumpher adequate 16 weeks,

Right now he is adequate - he will remain in your youth team for 16 weeks. In that time he will increase in skill. So you keep an eye on these increases - this lets you see if he is talented or not.

k can do that, but as i said in prev post i had indications that players were at good/solid and yet when pulled, the best skill on either of them was average, so what use is the indicators if when pulled the players do not have the supposed level of skill indicated? or am i missing something?

the skill a player is pulled at is a general indicator of his overall skill.
So generally a player who is pulled at excellent will be better than a player who is pulled at good. However, this depends on the distribution of the skills of the player, his talent and age. It does not mean that he will have any excellent skills.

When a player promotes, the maximum level any give single skill can be at is "Excellent".

As a general rule of thumb, you should be looking at keeping in youths in your school who could end up at solid or better when pulled (unless they join your youth school with only a couple of weeks to go). However, only youths pulled at Excellent or higher tend to really have a chance of making decent money (that said, there is still an outside chance that you may get extremely lucky with those lower skilled players).

You sold the following player: Diamond McInally and received 145 455 £. glad i kept this one he has just about doubled my bank account :-)

yep. the only chance to make good money with the low level pulls is if they come out 16 (or in some cases 17). i had 1 myself like that earlier in the season.

Thats why its ok to keep them if they only have a few weeks to go.
As lads in your youth academy age with other players at the end of the season, you wouldn't be getting any 16 yr olds if they've been at your club for 21 weeks or so. these long term lads should ideally be at least excellent when pulled, though i tend to bend that rule myself when i have a lack of quality youths coming through. ;)
