Right, im in work just now so will give you my verbal dhairrohea (how do you spell that again) later on tonight.

For now - i want to continue the venture into the WC and see how the young kiddies behave themselves. I will not discuss formations, tactics, individual players as i reckon that would be rather silly for any competitors - put it this way - if im voted in the teams we get drawn against - i will be heading straight for their candidates speeches.

In my tenure so far, which i must say was a fantastic learning curve, i have managed to qualify froma tricky group. My initial thoughts on the group turned out to be true with Finland being favourites (tho we really should have drew in the first game) and a tussle between ourselves and Austria. Thankfully i managed to overcome Austria with 1 win and 1 draw (which i feel we should have won) - tho it matters not now.

Strong points

I feel i did a good tactical job on Austria, was unlucky in the first game with finland.
Im STILL getting every scottish player known to sokker into my own database - 4.2 million to go. This will give us a list per value of the players which i can run a script to update their value each month - so far we have XXXX players in the dbase (cant say how many as we have a little comp running on it).
I post regularly in this forum and in the association

Bad points (i feel anyway).

Scoring goals (apart from moldova) - i was really peeved at only scoring 8 (i think it was) against thailand in the last game. I completely screwed the tactics up with our forward acting more like a wanna be winger.

Moving forward into this world cup campaign. Its been no secret that we dont have as good a squad as last term but that will not stop us from giving it the best shot we can. We are in the 3rd seed pot and realistically its going to be tough games now in the WC you cant expect anything else.

I have asked Dandy, Suttie and Ally to cast their eye over the current squad in the database, with ally coming back with the same things that i am thinking. WHY? did i do that i hear you all shout - i like to hear other peoples opinions, its a reason why i was strong for other managers to pick the team a) it gets them experience of the squad and b) it sometimes makes me think - why did he pick that player over the player i normally pick!

For all you wannabe U21 managers i reckon, IF selected, this will be my last season with the U21s (unless i win it of course then i shall go on again to fail drastically and wish i left at the top).

Its a great learning experince - with the database it doesnt make it too hard to keep the players up to date. I reckon you are looking at about 60 hours per week - nothing really :D

from previous post i have worked out your older than me which means surely your not availabe for selection to the U21s
i thought it was always best to have a coach/manager in the age group incase of injuries he can always step up to the plate
