Who I am?
My name is Norbert, I’m a 25y old Hungarian football-fanatic:) Uhm… ask if you want to know anything else, but I won’t tell you anything about my personal life:P
Me and Sokker
I’m playing for 3 and a half years now. I started off in the fourth division and won it on my first serious try. I promoted to the strongest third division that time, but it was no obstacle for me, I won that too on my second try and beat my playoff opponent with a relative ease. In the second division I spent a bit more time than I wanted, but I managed to won that too. On my third try. Unbeaten this time. Hey, do you also see some pattern here?
Then I promoted to the first division and things changed. I realized that I have no defense at all. I had a bunch of worthless players there. I managed to suffer through the first season but the second one throw me back to the second div. But I didn’t give up. I bought a few defenders and after winning the second divison again with ease, I promoted back and this time I won the whole thing. So at the moment I can call myself the national champion of Magyarország:)
Experiences with the NT
Currently I’m serving my second term with the Hungarian NT. My first season was dreadful, failed to qualify to the World Cup from an awfully hard group. It was a long time ago. Still, I had a few good memories which I will tell you a bit later. This season I was elected again. I wanted to leave a better impression of myself and I think I managed to achieve that.
If you followed the World Cup, you may know that Hungary was part of the death group with Italy, Netherlands and Brasil. Everyone thought that Hungary will finish with 0 points. We definitely had a worse team, especially on the midfield. What happened? I’ll show you:
Brasil 1:2 Magyarország
Magyarország 3:5 Nederland
Italia 1:0 Magyarország
Yes, we beat Brasil, put up a fight against Holland (either side could win the match) and had a very exciting battle with Italy.
After the group stage, Maqoma (Dutch NT-coach) said:
What do you think was remarkable in your Group, and what was remarkable overall in the World Cup untill now?
Magyarország, the NT coach did a great job with his squad. A little more luck and they could go to the next round.

In my group I think the extreme balance between all the teams, since until the last round all the possibilities were opened, and each team could fight for the pass, and this was a surprised since we all thought that Hungary would have had only a secondary role in the Group.
What the blue hell I’m doing here?
I’m candidating for your NT-job, obviously. Why Scotland? In my first NT-term, the Hungarian NT was in the same group as Scotland and your team made a really big impression on me. Back then the high winger tactic was not so common, but you were very effective in it and it made a really big impact on my tactics too. I wanted to beat you badly after you won the first match 2-0, and then my tactical team came up with an idea: let’s kill the midfield of the opponent and put a lot more pressure on their defense than usual. After some intense brainstorming, we came up with a tactic which was tested on England. Result?

Magyarország 5:3 Scotland
Let’s talk about tactics
Since I started playing I’m a midfielder trainer. Thanks to this no one in the whole Hungarian league can use wingers as effectively as me which I think is very important nowadays when everyone plays with 5 defenders. I’m very proud of my offensive tactics, I think it’s the key reason why I won the first division this year or could play on par with some of the top NTs with a weaker squad.
Regarding the defense, I’m rapidly improving that aspect as well, but I admit it’s far from perfect. But it’s not terrible either:)
Why should you choose me?
1. I speak English (I think)
2. I have NT experience
3. I have a huge experience with the most effective offensive tactical component
4. Qualifying to the World Cup will be easy and fun with me
5. I’m learning from my mistakes
6. I never gonna give you up

I would be interested to know if any of the candidates intend using the forums to keep the regular and casual readers informed of the matches and activities of the NT. For as long as I have been playing this game, (1and half seasons) I cannot recall any posts from the NT manager to inform us of games played etc. Rtg the u-21 manager posts pretty regular on forums ,giving us some kind of update which is helpful, though I would like to see some sort of link to games coming up/played etc., navigating your way to find the results could be a whole lot better than at present (cant blame the NT /U-21 Managers for that one ) I apologise in advance if any posts have been made that I may have missed.
With the Hungarian NT I usually post an intro about every opponent in our national federation. And after the match, I carefully analyse the tactics and rate each player's performance on the national forum.
