is it better to train 8 players at mid order rather than 10 at def order?

usually i would ensure i played 10 in mid order but i had to play 5 at the back at the weekend so im now faced with 5 at the back again and train passing on DEF or 5 in mid and train the 8 who played.

play 4 mid and give a def MID order? I always use a wingback with MID order when training a midskill
About your question, I think 8 mids is better than 10 defs speaking trainingwise :)

agreed.

just stick a MID order on one of your defenders. Wingback is a good choice. ideally they should have a bit of tech as they will hold onto the ball a bit longer and may get tackled.

If you have another look at my last match you will see that both my center backs had MID orders as I am trying to give them a little bit more technique. I admit the final score was a bit lucky but with the right skills players can play different roles adequately.
They are both getting on a bit for training at 25 but when the next generation finally breaks into the first team these guys should be good enough to continue playing in a non training role.

ok so i already played 5 defenders on sats game in DEF order. From now on i will not do that.

Looks like its 8 being trained this week then
