Stevie to All
Well here goes - ive never been good at speeches so ill keep it short and sweet

I joined up on the 6th of may 2005 and to be totally honest didnt really play much as i couldnt get into the game in the beginning . But that changed and im now hooked on sokker , My team AFC POLMONT has gradually improved over the seasons and for the previous 2 seasons ive been runner up in one helluva tough First division

Ive had some good fortune with my tactics and results but ive also made some schoolboy errors , that thanks to fellow scottish users , ive mostly cut out ( u know who you are ) ive learned about tactics and player positioning

I feel that with the fallback of advice from top lads with experience like ally, dandy, suttie and rtg to name a few i could at least attempt to help the lads kick on from the fine work rtg has done so far

Thats all for now , feel free to fire questions and i will try my best to answer them honestly , if not ill just make something up :)

right i have devised a question which will be sent to all candidates (including NT ones).

Over the past 3 seasons the scottish I and the community has embarked on the following items to try to improve Sokker Scotland for the best.

1. Spammed loads of forums and got our userbase up to 200+ I think it was.
2. Printed details of up & coming U21 fixtures with guess the score to get a chosen player to play in the next friendly.
3. Formed a massive 4 mentors to try to keep people interested.
4. Mailed every single new user to give advice and direction at the beginning of the game.

ALL of the above failed to spark any life into this community. To the extent that we are now spiralling towards our lowest ever userbase as far as i can remember.
There are no dedicated trainers in scotland as there are in England.
The NT games go by with hardly a mention from the community.
The weekly games go by with hardly a break of glass (apart from Stevies bottle).

WHAT would you do to solve any of the above issues?

good questions , but my bottle ???? cmon lol - the lads are doing me proud just now :)

Speaking from experience - The main reason many people give up quick in this game is TACTICS , i personally feel for a newb its really daunting and can be hard to suss out

Id like to think we could arrange a group of users , hopefully more step up who are willing to take time and talk newbs through this daunting task , we could maybe even set up a topic with the link to cerbs(i think) great video on you tube

Im using word of mouth to try and get new users , my brother and a mate of mines has joined up - my cousin is gonna join up , he is a manager at an asda and has loads of young football loving lads that he will try and talk into joining up also

I personally would like to offer myself as a trainer , im currently training defenders - and im willing to keep my future youths to get a training programme going

also , i can talk my brother into training a certain position for a period of time as he is new and looking for something to really hook him

thanks for your answer. Onto another one (its quite good seeing the scottish forums so busy).

What new features would you use to try to add to the spice of U21 games?
2009-12-09 15:30:21
Play England every week?
2009-12-09 15:31:02
it would get boring beating you all the time tho.....oh no wait - correct answer!!
2009-12-09 15:37:22
It would be spicy though wouldn't it. ;)

The idea of having an International Friendly Tournament next season within the English speaking nations sounds good to me.
2009-12-09 15:38:18
you know ive been wondering wtf is the U21 friendly button for in the national pages. It cant be just for normal games - friendly tournaments?
2009-12-09 17:08:56
Asides from pumping engerlund every week ?

My big idea is focused on new users , an incentive to get involved and hopefully keep them interested

Id like to run a prediction competition for all U21 games , where the people involved have to guess a score and as a tie breaker the time of the first goal - the person who wins will have the honour of having a player from their squad called into the squad and get a cameo 10 min appearance in the next friendly game

this would be open to everyone to join in and have fun with BUT only users new or newish ( 1-2 seasons ) can win the prize

Thats all i can think of just now , but i will have a think about it when im out later and report back anything else i can come up with
2009-12-09 17:15:40
I would be up for that bro u got my vote
2009-12-09 17:16:39
cheers wee man , hows the squad looking after the updates
2009-12-09 17:17:25
not looked yet will do so the now
2009-12-09 17:18:08
sound
2009-12-09 18:35:06
Just before i go , ive got an idea

how about if i get the job , i will try my best to arrange a Home Nations Cup

what id like is SCOTLAND-ENGLAND-IRELAND AND WALES to play each other

ill elaborate more later when i get home , if not then i will tomorrow
2009-12-09 21:11:05
right, since no one is asking any questions. Please answer truthfully im a big boy and can take criticism in any fashion.

1. What would you have done differently than me?
2. Who in your opinion is the best current 20yr old in DEF, MID and STR positions in the current squad.
3. How would you contact managers who are not giving you updates on their skills?
4. How often do you think managers should give you an update?
2009-12-09 23:29:48
ill answer truthfully mate as always :) - aint got time to answer 2 yet but i will 2morro when i have the time

1. simply , not very much - you done a great job and tried the best with what you have . i also will do everything i can with what i have if im lucky enough to get the chance

2 . answer to follow

3. i will personally mail them , asking for an answer - if that doesnt work i'll try again , and again and again - im quite persistent :)

4. it would be nie to have the player updated every week - but if that isnt possible it would be nice to know of skill pops
