Subject: Junior league question

JMPunk to All
I played a junior at centre back last week & he got a rating of 34. The highest rating in my team. So I presumed this was probably his best position & he would likely have good defensive skills when promoted.

When he was promoted last week he looked like this:

Bryce Finlayson, age: 20
club: JOHN BHOYS FC, country: Scotland
value: 53 700 £, wage: 720 £
excellent form, tragic tactical discipline
height: 166 cm
unsatisfactory stamina hopeless keeper
very good pace hopeless defender
poor technique poor playmaker
good passing very good striker

He is obviously not a defender so how did he get a 34 rating playing as a defender? And how are we supposed to work out what a junior players best position is? If I had played the same player the following week as a striker could I have expected him to receive a higher rating?

i agree, its quite confusing.

But if you look at the match stats, he contributed 5% in offense and 3% in defense.

i.e. he spent more time dribbling the ball and passing than he did chasing back and tackling.
So his other skills he uses for the dribbling and passing have a higher weighting towards his rating.

If you had played him again in defense and he had something like 2% offense and 11% defense, his rating would have been significantly lower.

Also juniors are always playing in superdivine form and 5% has been added to pace - that has an influence as well.
