This is a quick post to inform the community i would like the opportunity to take the step up and manage the NT team. I will post speeches etc later as right now i am just back from a funeral so not exactly in the motivational mode just now.

ok now that i have thawed out from this morning and training tonight (im sure they said BST started yesterday) i can divulge a little more.
I had my training period during the u21 first season in which it was a season long full of friendlies. What a great learning curve that was - it made me think the way a great old mentor of the oHTer game told me - "dont think of pm,pace or whatever - think of numbers and formulae - afterall its a computer with no real randomness". I also asked questions constantly of the "ahem wiser" managers in this game (yes there are some) and started to build a pretty decent ending. We qualified from our World cup group and then also qualified from the actual world cup into the last 32. Unfortunately we met Italy who went on to win the actual tournament. In this game we were without our main striker and alas only scored one against the 4 Italy scored. Could i have done anything differently - i say no. Some may say otherwise but with the team i had against Italy a defeat was always on the cards realistically.
During that tenure i also posted a plenty in here and within the Association forum. The game time suited on a Friday night for a little more activity than what the NT gets. Unfortunately a 12 oclock kick off for NT doesnt lend itself very well for forum activity (in an already quiet and dull forum).
Tactically wise - for me this will be a challenge - i know the team that is available and i know there weakenesses and strenghts. Form and injuries will play a major deciding factor on how well the NT can do.
Suttie, Reekie and Dandy have all qualified from their respective world cup groups and i have to do the same.
I will try my best to better their achievements, scout opponents relentlessely and hopefully get the tactics and a bit of luck to win the game.
There are a lot of the youngsters i had in the u21s who are now coming through the ranks and knocking on the door of the full NT. In friendlies i will aim to play u25 or possibly lower depending on opponent and agreements.
Will i state here i would have done things differently from Dandy? Absolutely not! No one has the insight or scouting of teams which Dandy put in so we cannot comment on things that he should or shouldnt have done.
If there is one main thing (apart from qualification) for me in this tenure (if selected) is to attempt to get more people interested in the NT. Too many times i have seen 3 forum postings on the NT - this HAS to change.
