whats wrong with a sweeper? i've always use one gives me a little coverage with my back 3 2 cb catch the strikers then the sweeper covers the mistakes

nope i play 2 wb, 2 cb, and 1 sweeper nearly every week
also i play 1 striker and 1 forward tucked in behind

i might not be the best team in scotland and i occasional struggle
and my fans are just totally rank but i have won games against
teams 3-4 points ahead of my team

i havent looked at your games but playing a sweeper in this game is suicidal. All the opposition has to do is place 2 strikers high up the park and they will position themselves in a line with your sweeper. In turn renderring your other defenders useless

Not just the strikers, a team using wingers could have them placed so high and in behind the defensive line but played onside by a sweeper. 2 strikers and suddenly you're facing a 3 on 1 situation.

i dont think its that easy to exploit
in the cup game this season dispite me playing a sweeper my defence
caught you strikers offside 14 times
yes i lost 3-0 but no of the goals was caused by my sweeper being outnumbered
infact 2 of them were penalties
yeah i was beaten by your width my wingbacks couldn't
cope with your wingers but i think the sweeper saved me losing 3 or 4 more goals

untill i see a team exploiting my v shaped defence i plan to stick with it
(might drop my wing backs back a little against teams withalot of pace on wing in future though)


i think ruling out sweepers out of hand is plan wrong
i think you should adjust your tactics to fit your players
and if that means using a sweeper then go for it
