Subject: BUY SCOTTISH

2010-09-13 14:20:39
rtg [del] to All
this is a plea to everyone within the Scottish community to start to work together to buy Scottish players who have potential to be great and then train the properly.

I am writing this post while realistically expecting it to fail. Many attempts have been made by better people than me and those attempts have died within a day of the posting.

prove me wrong.

Can we form trainers in certain positions?
Can we afford to have teams only training potential stars?

Here is an example of why were are effectively signing our countries NT team to failure and doom.

This player

Gordon Grady, Age:22
club: CF. Steaua, country: Scotland
Value: 2 787 502 $, Wage: 33 450 $
incredible Form, weak Tactical discipline
height: 180

formidable stamina, divine keeper
outstanding pace, average defender
weak technique, weak playmaker
very good passing, weak striker

He was on the cards to be possibly the best keeper the NT had seen in a long long time.
He got sold for what was a load of money and the owner is training technique.

Its not the owners fault as he bought himself a bloody good keeper but its soooo frustrating to see time and again our potential superstars being sold to someone who doesnt train them at all or properly.

Come on guys we surely can do better than this.

Specialist training doesn't have to mean train player from start to finish either.

For example
If you train pace or tech or both. You could effective get a trainee very high or max in them, sell him to a passing and or striker trainee. Eventually with have a top class winger or striker.

Or work the opposite way. Or you might finish the job on your own.

Scottish users will naturally tend to pay top dollar for Scottish talent so it should be both good NT wise and profit wise.

ive got 1.4m in the bank , and id love to keep it to buy a decent young scottish player to train

i'll keep hold of it and look out for players

I've got a Scottish only players policy anyway but its hard to sign new players as I can't usually be online to buy the few decent players that come up & no matter what bid I put in some Pole or Lithuania will raise it by 1 before the deadline or if I can be logged in to bid its always a bidding war & you have to pay well over the odds!.The new youth system really doesn't help either,I used to have a steady stream of trainees coming through but now nothing at all really.I'm still investing huge amounts in it & training every week too but may decrease it if it continues to be such a waste of money.

i really do wish they would put a 20% wage increase on foreigners.

Any interest in this young lad? He has popped twice in pace plus a random in tech and defence.

Training has been: Stam, Pace, Stam, Pace, Pace, Pace, Pace, Pace

Gavin McMillan, age: 19

height: 187 cm

average [5] stamina hopeless [1] keeper
good [7] pace solid [8] defender
good [7] technique adequate [6] playmaker
good [7] passing adequate [6] striker

He is quite talented, but not super talented would be my guess. And I don't really want to sell as he is the best player that I have, (talentwise and skill distribution), but I need MONEY!

where possible i only have scottish players in training postions but sometimes its just out of my pocket to pick up good talented trainees that are scottish and have to make do with 2nd rate trainees from my YA hoping for a couple better trainees in next 6-8 weeks

moving to pace training next season so need some decent trainees for mid and strikers with pace ssues

Cammy MacRobb, age: 17
club: Spin Of Terrible Winds, country: Scotland
value: 391 000 lei, wage: 4 100 lei
good [7] form, poor [3] tactical discipline
height: 175 cm

tragic [0] stamina good [7] keeper
very good [9] pace hopeless [1] defender
hopeless [1] technique tragic [0] playmaker
adequate [6] passing tragic [0] striker

Excellent spin, keep up the Scottish training.
2010-09-15 10:41:33
thanks, i will do so
2010-09-15 10:50:57
dont know if he can make it, but there is a gk on the list. John MacLaws [14179916]

1 year older than Grady, bit more passing, 1 lvl less on pace (formidable). Can still hit double divine if you train pace for 2.5 seasons :)
2010-09-15 10:54:12
I think Id have funds to buy him, but Im not training pace, but could get him and sell him on to a pace trainer, if there was one interested but didn't have funds at the moment.
