Roddy McVicar, age 22
value: 105 150 £, wage: 585 £
brilliant form
formidable stamina,
adequate pace,
poor technique,
weak passing,
very good defender
adequate playmaker
good striker
why is he worth so much more????
- guess its the playmaking, which I have only just noticed but didn't think it would make that much difference.

Stamina seems to add a lot to player value when they get to formidable for some odd reason. No idea why.
Neil Ogilvy average 17
Brian Martin average 17
Connor Wilkie adequate 25
Adam Bruce good 30
I've just started sokker a few weeks ago, how does this look?

Thats not too bad, the good 30 will hopefully advance a lot before he is ready. Just remember to delete anyone under average. But also watch how many youngsters you have as you don't want to be spending too much when you have only just started.
I think that you are better off starting out by investing heavily in your youth squad and pretty well ignoring buying in trainees.
This is because it seems very very difficult to get any money in this game.
In my opinion anywyas.
The youths I have managed to accumulate over the season seem pretty good.
Hopefully I can rely on them to form the backbone of my team.
I have only promoted 1 guy so far though, a solid.....think he had just popped the week before, but he was really really bad.
So I aim only to keep players who will be better than solid.....very good or better when they are ready.
So to Giovanni:
I would sack the average guys, but keep the other 2.

Didn't you just contradict yourself there?
You say to invest heavily but then tell him to keep only two players. Surely to invest heavily would be to keep as many good players as possible. Sorry if I misunderstood what you mean.

What u also have to bear in mind is that the 30 week youth pull is going to cost £18,000 before you can actually use him, and he might turn out to be rubbish or 19Yr old, it is a risk, I have a very small Youth squad but have bought a full team of 16yrd olds all Adequate and above, none of these players cost more than about £6K, train these guys up to Solid and at 17/18 they should all sell at a very tidy profit. Training like in Hattrick is where you make real money
I agree with what you said there, I'll explain myself better.
Obviously every team has only a limited number of youth spaces.
And every team basically wants to have those spaces filled with the best youths they can get.
Those average players, in my opinion, and brief experience with the game / youth squad are not very good at all.
He would be better off sacking them and waiting for saturday and some more youths.
Of course, one may as well wait until training to see if anybody pops before sacking a youth.
Like I said bfore though, I would only keep a player who was going to be better than solid wen they graduated, so even if his average players popped to adequate I would still fire them.
I have 8 slots with 6 filled. Every saturday I sack the rubbish and then look at the rest and compare them.
My worst player is good at the moment, and I aim to keep it that way....by continuously recyling my squad.
eg firing the worst players. I will get to a point where my worst player will be good and my slots will be full, at this point I will increase the slots.
The basic point is, not worth keeping certain players, and those 2 average ones certainly qualify for the bin.
meh, very long winded....oh well.
Hopefully clearer than before.

yeah, but surely a 30 week youth pull who starts out at good will still be pretty "good" even if he turns out to be 19?
I mean, at the moment I am hoping that I can just slap some of my yps in my first team when they graduate...pop, whatever, since my current players suck.
Not too bothered about selling them for a profit, though if I think they will fetch me a lot then I will.
I guess I need a little more experience in the whole yp thing .....
I have my own plan though and am sticking to t :)

Not brilliant for me
Playmaking +1 to my keeper
stamina +2 which were useful
Form -3 overall, with 5 players now on tragic. Including a guy who is my second best striker when on tragic. So praying he improves soon

I think this is one of the poorest elements of the game, waiting for weeks and weeks to get a 19yr old, seems a bit harsh, Ive decided to buy 16 / 17 yrold players and train them..
My youths are there out of Hope.....

He is way better than my solid I pulled last season......which I find a bit wierd.
15/9/05
2 pops in my youth squad
Neill Twaddle very good 17
Owen McColl solid 24
both popped in 5 weeks I think, so I'm hoping these players are future stars when I pull them, even if they are maybe 19 or 20.
Training front
Quite a few stamina pops despite me training passing.
Couple of passing pops too, but not that many.
Form so so.
