Good few pops but most are not the ones I expected to pop.
Trained Passing:
21 year old Scottish mid popped to Very good Passing,
23 year old Scottish striker popped to Average Passing,
26 year old German defender popped to Solid Passing,
18 year old Polish mid popped to Solid Passing,
22 year old Russian mid popped to Very good Passing.
Randoms:
same 22 year old Russian popped to Adequate defender.
My 22 yr old Polish mid who was hanging around for about 3 seasons with ridiculously low form is now up to a career highest Outstanding form! Happy days. Still waiting for some overdue pops in other players - next week should be prosperous aswell hopefully.

Iulică Filip: +1 Playmaker *defender didnt play in training position
Klaudiusz Serwatka: -1 Pace
Bartel Slomann: +1 Playmaker *keeper didnt play in training position
Louis Tobin: +1 Playmaker
Pace: (+0/-1) = -1
Playmaker: (+3/0) = 3
can someone help me here - is training pm on pms not just supposed to train pms? Its very odd that i get more "random" pops than i do normal ones.

Doesn't matter what you train, every player who has played gets some percentage of training. A rough guide is 8-10 weeks of non training position training is equilavent to one weeks training. (does that make sense?)
Even when training pm to mids, your defs and atts are still getting tech and pace etc. That's why getting a head coach with as high as possible individual skills is important.

Another way of saying that is that player skills increase gradually over time, this slows down as they age and eventually stops before going into reverse at old age.
Whatever you choose to train is also trained by the other players on the pitch, as the rules are fond of saying - to a lesser degree. In addition, helped by the high skillset (hopefully) of your head coach they're slowly increasing in other skill wether played in a training position or not.
Ally's figure of 8 - 10 weeks being equal to 1 trained week is a new one to me though. I always thought it was closer to 6-7 weeks. Anyway, what is almost certain is a mixed training regime is the fastest way to get your kids popping all over the place, and sticking to just one training-type forever and ever gets them a bit bored and stagnating.

Your 6-7 weeks could be right, i always went with 8. I put 8-10 weeks though as i guess the 8 weeks would be based on unearthly coach skills. Coaches with lesser skills i reckon would take slightly longer.
i always work on the basis of 8 weeks of general equals 1 week of regular training. but thats with unearthly main coach skills in each area, and with brilliant + assistant coaches.
i do keep track of my training and how long each pop takes, and that figure of 8 weeks seems quite accurate. enough so, that i can quite happily quote 8 weeks of general training as a single week of full training when quoting how much extra training my lads have, and sleep easy at night with my conscience clear.
6 weeks seems a bit much, even with unearthly assistants.

How old is the player? Passing tech and pace are obviously required.
