Training was today at 10:00 am.

I hope you trained stamina.

:)

You need about 12-14 players tops.

Sack anybody with a salary of less than $2000.

Pay attention to your finances for the first week or 2, to give you an idea of what trainers and wages you can afford.

:)

I've opened a lot of threads, read them, they will answer quite a few of your questions.

Just wondered.

i have one in the scottish team

Well, maybe.....the NT coach asked about a player I got in the draft, but no reply. With my super efficient training though, it shouldn't be a problem :)

Like I've said before, I'm half English / half Scottish, with an English accent, but born (Aberdeen) and currently living in Scotland (Edinburgh), so I have no problem training players of either nationality ;)

More on training:

There is a training penalty if skill sets are too out of balance

what does "skill sets" and "out of balance" mean?

sets of complementary skills make training go faster

if you have an 18 yo with high level of skills in a certain area (ie. inside skills like you mentioned) then training in those skills is faster than if you tried to train outside skills.

Things like handling and driving are probably more general complementary skills for inside and outside which improve players lack of Turn Overs and improve ability to attempt shots.

The two main groups are:
Outside Skills:
Jump Shot + Jump Range + Outside Defence + Passing

Inside Skills:
Inside Shot + Inside Defence + Rebounding + Shot Blocking

Training does take into account height as well. Short players are better at training in outside skills and tall players in inside skills.

Big differences in skills are probably not a factor but if a player has very low skill level in more than two of the skills in the desired area for the player to be training in then it would be considered a very bad player to play in that area.

will players train faster if you just train C as opposed to C/PF?

GM reply:

Yes. The more positions you train, the slower individual players will train.

I trained pressure this week on my PG/SG, and got one arrow in outside defense and another one in inside defense! Wonder if it's just something unusual or if pressure is also meant for inside game...

Training a skill will increase that skill for your trainees, but it's also possible to get pops at other, related skills.

eg, random pops, that aren't so random

some of the training aids other atributes like handling can help driving and ball handling.jump shop can help outside shot ,there is a list in the rules under training.

cool :)

Won my first game 119 - 78. Have not got much clue what is going on, especially with all the numbers concerned in stats/scores, but i did spend enough time going through the team to decide who played best where and next best. Highlighters and an A4 homemade spreadsheet won me that game. :)

lol.

A c+p from BB(feeling lazy)

Just won an absolute nail biter. Scored a 2 pointer with 1 sec on the clock (in 4th quarter), after opponent had tied the score with 4 secs left after a 3 pointer.

First competitive game, and my first win.

Was biting my nails for the last 30 mins lol :D

Played the game on easy too. :) (PIC for HT'ers)

Still, against a computer controlled team, expected to win it more convincingly, but guess the PIC probably had a big effect.

My crowd was rubbish, and I'm worrying about balancing the books already :/

Training question

If i choose to train Centre, does that mean that if i play 3 different players in that position a week then they will recieve training and the other players who have played in other positions that week receive none?
Where do you find out your attendance?

I played a home game yesterday, i can find the stats and watch the game but cant find the crowd and there's no income in my finance's.
2008-02-03 10:50:25
You just think that was a home game, but it's USA & it's basketball. You were the away team.

I got $9178 from my home game where I appeared to be away. :)
