My team in hattrick "Partick Thistle (67884)" has began its mass sell out. so if anyone here still plays hattrick there are margical PM's and titanic wingers and magnificent forwards. help yourself all starting at 667.

sad day ???

its a great day mate :)

Hattrick is a farce and a truly awful game . i just gave up my supporter and messaged the gamemasters to tell them what i thought of their game , bugs , ideas and downtime and how crap it was :)

Sokker is the daddy !!!

lol, agreed.

HT is pants and I'm glad I stopped playing it when I did.

You always have sokker, a much better game :)

I've felt like talking to you for a while Dod about where you're going wrong here in Sokker. Never knew if i should just keep my mouth shut. But you've been here as long as i can remember and there is little sign of improvement, at least not relative to others who have been here similar length of time.

Looking at the players in your 'Clearout' thread and I begin to get a clue as to where you may be going wrong. Combine that with your overall transfer record and the picture is perhaps even clearer.

So two tips for you. Stop buying players under 100,000 they start off crap and even after a few skill pops in your team they are still mainly crap.

Bite the bullet and decide on a training program, buy 2 or 3 decent trainees to go with the best of what you've already got and settle down for the long haul. A decent trainee will have at least 3 skills at good or better. Avoid any player with less than weak in the 5 main skills for outfield players.

The 5 Being:

1. Pace
2. Passing
3. PM
4. Tech
5. Defence

Assuming that you're not training forwards or wingers, if you are then adjust accordingly to include striking.

Go to the transfer window and enter 'Weak' for each of those 5 skills with max age 18 (It's late in the season, you are effectively buying a 19 year old.) Look for someone with at least 3 goods within your 5 skills. Acceptable difference may be an Excellent and 2 Adequates. You have to train 2 skills to excellent as a minimum. Not one. This ain't HT, though I am sure you realise that.

Easiest training for anyone to do would be Defence I think, training pace and defence. Allowing for a random or two in the other skills over 2 or 3 seasons you can produce some pretty decent players.

When you sell your first player for over a million you can smile and relax, for 2 days.. then go out and buy 2 new trainees for 500k each.

Good luck mate, and finally.. feel free to tell me to Chuck Norris off if you want. :)

;)

good advise.

thats basically the way i've tackled my youth training policy, though after a few cycles of selling off trained up lads and buying in youngsters, i've moved up to buying in 17/18 yr olds and tend to splash a bit more on each.

also, i almost never spent a penny on a non-trainee for the first few seasons in sokker, all my money went on buying in the youths to train.

it was only after i had a full compliment of decent trainees did i spend money on the rest of my team. thats why i was the worst team of all the human users in scotland for the first few seasons, but look who's laughing now ;)
