i don't get it. I thought you would do better Brokus, and indeed you should be more serious about losing to this team.

I suggest you stop playing with 4 defenders and never try that again. Apparently it's too easy to score against.

Of course you can say you should be winning with 17 to 7 attempts, but if we compare it with France's 8 attempts, it's obvious the defense failed.

Even if you were to play with ten defenders, you will concede chances. It can't be helped. Just have a look at other, comparable matches. Not to say it could not have been handled (much) better, but the main issue is not the defense as such. It is the midfield that is the most problematic.

To be honest, I'm much more upset about the game against France. The game against NZ seems to me outrageous bad luck for the most part. A draw would have been a steal, a loss like this is out there. A normal conversion rate is 1 out of 4. You do the math. :-)

To be fair, out of seven shots New Zealand had six major opportunities (the seventh being the first goal, a long-distance attempt), so it's unfair to just put it on bad luck. Defense failed because it was almost exactly the same as the week before, and New Zealand profited to the maximum: their strikers were exactly inbetween our central defenders and wing defenders. With a minor adjustment this probably would not have happened.

In the end I thought a draw would be a justifiable result, we got pretty much the same amount of major opportunities out of those 17 shots.

hmm no i'm more like Sheldon Cooper, hehe ;)

Big problem are the holes between midfield and defenders.
I told before on NT forum also, without changing this, this problem will stay against any opponent.

It worries me that I actually know who you mean, I guess I watch too many sitcoms ;)

5-3-2 would be the best against Belgium... i beat them really easily in this season ;)

anyway i admit, i had no real chance in BEL-PL game, which was quite surprising concerning our similar ratings (bout 80*)

Iedereen moet even zijn licht laten schijnen over Brokus' tactiek in het NT-association forum. Ik heb nog niet echt het idee dat het middenveld goed staat, maar zou ook niet zeker weten hoe het wel zou moeten. En Brokus zou volgens mij wel graag wat ideeën horen.

My point exactly.

we have one on one situations, heads and...nothing..... they scored by head 3 goals.. fuck it.. we weren't worse in this game;/

there were a bad point of tactic but in my opinion we stop them well. 9 shots by Poland is good result, but 3 head goals, when we couldn't do anything :|
