First U20 friendly of the season, is time to we test strategies looking the new generation....

the problem of U20 team is same as U21 team basically....

We will do not use Adri de Lange in these matches because since he is our best option as keeper, is better do not put him in a non-official match to he have a injury and then we lose a good option for the WCQ.

We will test 2 tactics in this match.

Here is the list of players for the match against Israel.

Nederland U21 - Israel U21 3:1

After 2 weeks in the dark amid the chaos, finally a light is seen and the Netherlands comes out winning in this season for the first time.

We test 2 formations today, 2 formations very different than the tactcs we use in WCQ, in a more centralized style 442 and 532, I never thought I would use a formation with 5 defends that I hate so much, but i do not have good options to use a more ofensive strategy at the time, but we will test other formations also in next U20 friendly matches.

Our goal was simple, try to have a strong defense and use the counter-attack to try to make goals and today was effective, the 2 plays that occour a penalty our strikers was in a good way also to shoot and the 3rd goal was a nice play by our midfield that make a nice pass.

Now I'll be honest with all my heart, you might not like me because I'm a guy who speaks a lot of ''bad'' words in the forum, because at the moment it's not bringing better results .... that's something that frustrated me a lot last week... i may not be a gentleman but you can expect a guy who gives 100% of himself to make this national team get the results they deserve while i'm here, i will do my best and the community is being nice to me and I want to give the best possible results because you deserve it.

this is my way of communicating, it may seem a bit childish but i love what i do and i put my heart on it so depending on who i win or lose i will give some insults... :p

So to do not lose the rhythm

FUCK YEAH, WE WIN!

Winning is the best feeling there is, I don't care if it's Poland or Nigeria, winning is always good and I always want to win.

Next match is agaist UAE, time to we make also our 1st win in WCQ because we want to play in U21WC.

U.A.E. U21 - Nederland U21 0:3

Ok, let's go in parts to talk about this match.

We win, our 1st victory in WCQ this season, I'm happy with the win, but I'm not happy about our performance... Different than the other matches that we failed to win because lacks luck and etc.... today i think in a lot of plays we have a lot of luck to do not recieve a goal, so I think.... if was a better team, would we have won today?

I admit I made a big mistake today in positioning our D-Line and our 2 DEF MIDS.... was better if i put a pressure line like in the last matches because we suck today to stop his striker a lot of times... The worst thing is for a striker to be able to get the ball close to the goal line and we did it several times and we just didn't get any worse thanks to our goalkepper (I wanted to thank Quibus for training him) and because of our defs, even if they lose the 1st combat, they still have skill to try another one, also.... put Freese to play today was a mistake.... i put him because i wanna a more faster defender but he suck in his matchup and thanks to he failed a lot of times, we make U.A.E. try to make something on the match....

Now about the midfielders.... I think we give too much space to U.A.E. and our midfileders a lot of times was weird moving and that made them much more with the ball than us, especially in the 1st half... But there are things that do not help, our midfield is not strong and in U21 teams, the most important position in my opinion is that of midfielders, because you can have slow defenders, but you can fix the positioning, the same for strikers, but midfielders are the heart of the team, the moves are created by them, one of the problems for example is our midfielders have a low level of playmaking, so they hold the ball too much, sometimes that's positive, but against a team that try to use offside trap against you, being able to move the ball quickly in the counterattacks is important.... A bit of a problem is the lack of skill by our midfielders but also my fault for not knowing how to use the best of them yet.

About the chances we created, was very good chances, the 3 goals was amazing to watch... i recommend you watch to see how was the plays, it seems like Busscher plays better as a 2nd striker because he only make goals playing in this specific position, when he play against Panamá near to the wing he sucks... but today he was incredible, Tol i expected more but let's see the next matches, in min 81 he make a incredible play, that play was why i use this specific tactic today, is a 4-4-2 with 4 defenders, 2 def mids, 1 halfwinger, 1 winger and 2 stikers, N03. The Hero, is my main tactic basically.... and Tol recieved the ball in front of goalkepper and shoots one of the worst shoots i ever seen... haha, and then in min 83 same play happen, he shoots... kepper saves and Drenthe misses the goal without keeper.... i think sometimes sokker hates me... haha.

So, as i talk... i like win, was a important win, but i do not like how we played, of course that i prefer win playing bad that losing and making a show, but It is not always that luck will hit us, there was competence on our part, of course ... but U.A.E. have 7 opportunities to make the goal is a red flag... It's alerting me: '' Woody, pay attention to these little details, as these little details can cost you an important result tomorrow. ''

Next match will be against Kazakhstán, I hope we continue this winning streak because we already lost all of our chances to fail this season, now is winning and winning if we want to play U21WC.

Thanks for the summary! Congrats on your win and good luck next match!

Nederland U21 - Kazakhstán U21 9:1

The match I had the greatest pleasure to see from our team this season, we gave a lesson in how to play offensive football, the truth is 9-1 is an unfair result... fair result for today was to be 20-1, but damn... his GK is good, he save it a lot... haha, I adjust some things in our tactic that we use against U.A.E. for today and i feel that the midfield appears more, only some mistakes on defense like was in the goal they made it... but is a thing that could be solved it..... so, no problem....

I recommend watching this match and seeing what the goals were like, not only did we do the result but we make a show it in the field with good plays by our players, especially the 8th goal that i will put here to people watch how was.... i think was one of the best goals my teams made it in U21, a perfect set of passes that create a stunning goal by Drenthe, Netherlands in real life is known for beautiful football mainly from the teams we have seen in the past as the team that play in 74 WC or in 88 Euro, this 8th goal was how i want to see Netherlands on offense, a strong combination of passes to create a free space to the striker make the goal. I want to see this everyday, i want to the community have pleasure to watch the matches by our team.

Next match is against Colombia, is our important match of the season since they fighting with us for WCQ.

Colombia U21 - Nederland U21 0:1

YES!

We were horrible today, but at least we left with the result... only goal of the match was a ridiculous own goal, but we are better in the chances we created... .also could be more goals if we do not make so many mistakes on passes in your midfielders, also i think this playstyle with Geels was not good since Geels is more slow and have less playmaking skills, because of that a lot of times our team have a slow pace in the game, a pity he recieved a red card. Colombia played too much trying to avoid to suffer goals than to try to create chances to make goals, the only chances they created was by long shots or individual plays that a special player made it because they have zero creativity on offense....
Wapenaar make his debut today and he was very good.
But that's was the result we need it, if we beat Colombia again i think we could say that we are in U21WC.

Now next match will be a U20 match against Azarbaycan, time to test our U21WC generation again.

This result was for you community, was suffered today, is a bit of true that we were a little lucky, but that's what I like to say ... luck follows who deserves it, we did not start well but now we are picking the fruits of a dedication made by us all (me analyzing opponents and creating the strategies and the community giving all the support needed by encouraging me, training players and also keeping youth schools open). I need to pick a good drink to celebrate today

Second U20 match of the season, Azerbaijan is a team with a similar level than us and they draw 2-2 with Italy a weeks ago in a U20 match, it looks they have fast strikers and this will be a good test for our defense.

Different than our match against Israel, i will test a more offensive strategy since we have now new blood on midfield and i want to play with the pieces we have and see what we can do.

If your player is on the list for today and do not play, this do not means that i will do not use him in the season, i want to test a lot of players to i see what i can do for next season.

It took me a long time to decide the team for today because I was really in doubt what to test and which players to test, so now in Brazil is 7AM, I'm going to sleep .... I'll be back in a few hours and then we reviewed the test of today.

Here is the list of players for the match against Azerbaijan.

Azərbaycan U21 - Nederland U21 4:1

Ok... let's talk in parts.

The test was to try to use our current concept at U21 but with defense modifications, as our defense is slow, I thought I'd try to make them move less and get closer by trying to double up on the strikers.

It went very wrong because I did just what the opponent wanted, a big mistake on my part ... if they play with the team all behind, then a big problem for them is the lack of space to create offensive plays if I open So much room for his strikers to act, so I'm handing the cake.

To make matters worse the sokker acted handicapped with us, a goalkeeper injury (luck that wasn't serious, a red card to our defender and a bug that occurred in the game).
I make 3 subs for 65 min, the subs was.... Giesen < Brüll, van Eerd < van der Luer and was to happen de Goey replacing Bogarde, i know i make correctly this subs, i always check more than 1 time this, but sokker put Bogarde as a defender and Pappot as a midfielder.... my god, this fucked us.... hope this happen in a friendly match, if this happen in a official match, pretty much sokker screw us....

And about the red card to our defender... that make things be much worse than us, only 3 midfielders on pitch and this broke the advantage we have in start since Azerbaijan was using only 3 midfielders... even with only 10 players on pitch, we have some chances, but thanks to his 3 vs 3, lack some creation of space to a pass happen to our strikers.

Also the goals we recieved was the mistake i talk before, i give too much space and this was what Azerbaijan wants. they have good stikers to play in the box and lacks more moviment by our defenders.

An acceptable result for today was to be 4-3 to Azerbaijan, we have a missed penalty and a shoot by Drenthe that hit the post, at least a good thing i see today was the long passes to the strikers, a pity sokker did not count as a assist to Bogarde, because his pass to van Eerd was lovely... our next test with U20 team will be against Poland, so i already know that if i try things i try today specially on defense, i will recieve at least 10 goals form Poland players.

But that was matter this matches, test concepts, see how the players played on field and try to improve for next matches, now next week we come back to play WCQ, another match against Colombia, if we beat Colombia again, we could talk that we have one hand on U21WC.
