Subject: [NT]Nederland - México

Why don't you tell me that I forgot to open the topic for next game?:D

There will be a friendly game, in the middle of this qualification stage.
We are in a pretty good position:

1. Nederland 5 5 0 0 23-3 15
2. Uruguay 5 3 1 1 17-4 10
3. Danmark 5 3 0 2 13-9 9

Also, currently on 14th place. Mexico is ranked on 10th place, so this friendly is pretty important regarding the rankings, a win for them can throw Mexico an a considerable distance from us, a win for us can even take us over them :)

I proposed to their coach an U something game + reserves. He refused, saying that he doesn't have young stars. For greg's sake, only top countries have young stars :)) What did he expect?:))

Thus, we'll accept their challenge to play with best players, I'll still try, though, to rest a couple of guys, at least the ones with 2 yellow cards. We still have an important game next week, against Uruguay.

it seems like we simply outclassed them.

And we'll get some important points in ranking, most probably we'll go over them :))
no cards, no injuries, only 1 shot for them, 4-0, PERFECT game! :)

Very good victory, but i think not your best match ever ;)

But mexico realy failed at their tactic. Some realy basic errors there.

Indeed, I'll pay more attention to the wings, I know what to change. When they used a winger, it was pretty dangerous, I'll change this. Otherwise, I think it worked pretty well...

As for them, I knew they don't defend very well on wings, saw a couple of their last matches and there were all the same. Our winger was like on a high road :))

I liked the game... I liked the free space of the dutch winger. I liked all the goals :)

But i doubt we had a good result against a better tactic. But as you said, you analysed them. So my sceptism is not needed :)

I'll have look when I get home. But I think I know what my comments are going to be like. My style is markedly different from yours. Wybo and I got much the same approach to tactics. So if he thinks there were holes inthe tactic, odds are I shall agree with him.

I must say most of the time you have great tactics but in this game the tactic was not good...
Defence was bad, i think you are great in low defence with upcoming defenders.
But working with higher defence, as you did now, you have to put MIDs in the holes between the defenders and the MIDs have to act lower when defending. Lots of times the MIDs of Mexico did find this holes today, you were lucky the attackers did not make the right jump in the tactic (so no break throughs) and lack of PM of the MIDs of Mexico.

Edit: in first 7 minutes of the game there are 3 examples of the holes in the defence.

ok, ok... I see no one is satisfied, only 2-3 users are talking... I'm dissapointed.
Til I start to see some activity around NT, more users to come with ideas and support, Nederland will play with corner tactic (all players in corner), starting with the game against Uruguay.
For tough situations, drastic measures are required.
It's not possible as it is now.
