World Cup groups are finished now, with some surprises. Last world cup finalists, Romania and Sverige, didn't manage to get through the group stage.
Also, Schweiz managed to qualify with only 3 points, while Scotland missed the qualification with 6 points.

About us, after the draw from first round, we managed to win the next 2 games and finished the group on first place. Curiously, 2 seasons ago, Romania under my command also drew on first group stage match, 4-4 against Denmark, managing to win the next 6 games and to lift the trophy :)

This time, we have a pretty difficult oponent, Srbija (Serbia). Comparing the 2 teams, they have the stronger squad. The difference shouldn't be so high, though.
We'll do our best to have a good game, I hope we'll also have a bit of luck, because everyone needs it.

It appears to be the very first game between the 2 national teams :)
Saturday, starting 12 sk-time, we'll go hunting the white eagles!

Eagles are a protected species (in Holland at least, not that we have that many eagles).
But in this case we should burn the bastards.
Hup Holland Hup

no one can be protected against us ^_^

up :)

So, what do you guys think of a winger?
2012-07-14 11:33:28
I do not know how you managed drive out Puniša Spalević transver sheet, but now it is no Serbian midfielder (DMC) a your chance for passing by the increase.

:( Too bad.
2012-07-14 12:41:34
meh... I think we were out of luck today.
Their substitute striker, Mileta, has one shot and one goal, our 2 new substitutes strikers have 2 shots each, one on one, and no goal...

Pure random.

That's it...

Poland out,Italia out,Holland out and all with better ratings than their opponents... The ME is unpredictable as ever.
2012-07-14 12:59:55
Unfortunate. :-(

Bulgaria 3-0 Italy.

Bulgaria had 4 shots :))
Italy 24 :))

that's funny...
2012-07-14 13:09:07
That's not funny, that means that the ME still has an enormous random factor.
I think that is not fair to users that spend a lot of time in tactics, this looks useless now :(

The red card seems to have been the real decider in our game. Anyway, upsets do happen. Even in real life. If you were to look at the stats for the Netherlands against Denmark, it would look worse than Italy against Bulgary in SK. ;-)
2012-07-14 13:29:47
Of course, but it looks like the random factor is bigger than ever with this ME, i don't think that is good.
2012-07-14 13:58:41
Without the red card, you would've probably won, but this is part of the game. If you wouldn't have had that conditional order and if you kept Hese on the midfield, you would never have lost.

I think, personally, that your tactic was based on luck too much. You just kicked the bal forward and hoped that one of the attackers did something good with it, while the Serbs dominated the midfield by playing the ball from midfielder to midfielder untill there appeared a gap in your defence. So, in a kind of tactical sense, I'm glad that the Serbs won, because I found their tactic more appealing :-)

But Nederland had the best chances, so it's a hard loss to swallow. It reminds me a bit of Belgium-Romania. We should've won that match too :-/. I guess Sokker is a eastern-european game ;-)

The problem is that there is so little difference in quality. players should have a bunch more levels, making it utterly impossible to max them out on all relevant stats. Tripe divine strikers should not be possible for instance. Matches on this level are decided by luck for the most part. Sometimes tactics matter more, but if both NTC's got it more or less right it's luck that matters most.

Nederland is flink gezakt op de ranglijst de laatste tijd...
