Isn't De Zeedijk in the led right district?
2009-10-31 00:16:51
It is but it doesn't mean that you can't eat excellent there.
2009-10-31 00:22:14
Besides, once you're in the red light district eating will be the least of your concerns.
2009-10-31 00:27:38
I was just wondering. Doesn't matter to anything.

Wandering in the red light district ?
2009-10-31 00:29:42
Now I'm wandering on the digital led right district;)
2009-10-31 00:33:35
I thought that red light district has shutting down....
2009-10-31 00:36:19
I thought that as well, but I haven't been there for a long time.
2009-10-31 00:40:10

Untill 6 months ago I lived in Amsterdam

Looking at what you did 10 years ago this is what I would recommend (some of it is a bit touristy....)

- visit Haarlemerstraat for some funky shops, pubs and coffeeshops (the dutch version). Excellent street for cheap lunches or afternoon drinks
- Canalcruise by night (unless you did this 10 yrs ago and it is a bit touristy but nice nonetheless)
- visit a chinese restaurant on or near "Nieuwmarkt" (e.g. Zeedijk has some nice once but they are not the onlu ones....)
- visit "Begijnhof" to see some of the oldest buildings in Amsterdam in a quiet enclave in the city center.
- Amsterdam Dungeon if you are up to a bit of a scare. ;)
- Heineken Experience, if you like Heineken this is the place to go (but you will not get a lot of beers...)
- If it is not raining, stroll through the "vondelpark" to see what "Amsterdamers" do in the weekend. (Don't stroll at night or you will see what the gay part of Amsterdam do outdoors in the weekend ;) No offence.....)
- Don't visit the pubs and restaurants at "leidesplein" They are tourist traps and relative expensive.
Around "nieuwmarkt" you can find a lot of student places with decent food for decent prices.
"Rembrantplein"is where most of the Amsterdam fooks go, but some of the places are also expensive...
- Want a nice pub: O'reillys behind the palace on Dam square (pass on the lef side) is quite nice...

Let me know what you like and I will try to give a few tips :)
If you want to party, there are lot's of place to go to, but it depends on what you like.... (pub or dancing, etc...)
