Is de omgeving van het Gardameer niks dan? Kun je iig watersporten en volgens mij gaan daar ook wel wat jongeren heen (ben er zelf overigens nooit geweest, maar van horen zeggen :P)

Is inderdaad ook erg mooi daar.

De voorkeur ging sowieso naar Toscane - Gardameer - Rimini (op het eerste zicht)
Maar mss dat iemand nog speciale leuke ervaringen had :)

We (my wife and my 2 teenagers) will spend one week holidays in Amsterdam in August. Do you have some advices about places to visit for all of us ? Please

Well, a week is quite a long time in Amsterdam I suppose.

If you or your wife like shopping, you could go to the '9 streets' (= 'de 9 straatjes' in Dutch). Also the Haarlemmerstraat used to be voted best shopping street in NL a few years ago.

The center is very touristic. Nice to see for a day, but probably you have seen it all by then.
If you like museums, the Rijksmuseum is definitely worth a visit. Amsterdam has many museums, which you could check out yourself online.

I think there are some nice neighbourhoods in Amsterdam to visit, but it's probably best to have a look at a lonely planet for the best places to visit outside the city center.

I kept in mind your submits.

We are in Amsterdam since 3 days now, and it is really interesting for some points. We are living in Northen area of Amsterdam (Waterlandpleinbuurt). There are some nice places to visit by walkinf there. We were to Nieuwehammerham to travel freely to the central station. And we visited some parts of central amsterdam avoiding too much tourist streets.

Interesting points are the way amsterdammers live with nature (i mean wild herbs that grow on sidewalks).
Interesting to see how much amsterdammers like to let see their inside home and are proud of it (nice house furnitures).
Interesting to see many amsterdammers drinink and eating just outside of their house in the center of amsterdam (a young mum giving some foodspoon to his baby or a young lovers drinking white wine) on their bench.

I really like the sense fo freedom smelling around here. We all appreciated that.

We plan to visit countryside by cycle all the day and finish to listen some djs in a concert in the northen-west side of Amsterdam.
Then, when rain will take part of weather, we will visit some museums.

Rain is the most important thing to learn in The Netherlands ;)
Nice to hear you like Amsterdam, since it is one of the ugliest places in The Netherlands in my opinion...
But about the freedom smelling you are right i think.

Indeed, impressive how rain can come suddendly :-)... What is the technique to learn ?
Finally, Amsterdam's week was really a nice experience for us and by saying that it is the worst city in Nederlands, that will give us opportunities tom come back in the future ;-)

May i ask for you some other questions ?
- Why do you always use bikes with no hand brakes ? By tradition, i imagine but by trying this in the countryside, i saw how not easy it was when a danger comes... Thus i would not have imagined using it in the center of Amsterdam...
- Bikers go very fast in the city : is there any law giving them priority to cars or pedestrians ?

Bikes without handbrakes are the best. The harder you step on the brake (reverse biking), the faster you brake. It is much safer than hand-brakes (which deteriorate in quality over time).

There are no laws for priority for bikers :)

I did it and i almost fell into the pit when we were along the seaside :-)... An old man few minutes later fell, him... (with no injury) :-)
