Subject: [NT] andreac
Hello there!
I'm andreac and I'm from northern Italy.
I'm writing here because I'd like to hear your opinion about my possible candidature for your NT.
Of course you don't know me and I'd be somewhat puzzled too seeing someone coming in my forum in the very first election day.
Well... I'll give you some info and then, as it should be, it's to you to decide:
* With my team I play actively since 2011 and I've been promoted yesterday to the Italian second league level ("serie B")
* I've a large experience NT work, mainly in the database area. I'm currently Database manager in Italy and I've had the same position in the recent seasons in Finland.
In Italy we've done a very huge work, we've organized our staff in order to keep updated all the players we're interested in (players that were included in the DB and players who were previously unknown). We organized a group of scouts to send every week (or 2 weeks) a large bunch of skmails to the owners who don't update the players regularly.
I do think that a well organized DB is the key to a NT future.
We've all know that "random" plays a strong part in this game, like in real life.
But to be prepared is our best chance to do the best we can.
And here in Sokker "to be prepared" IMHO means a clean and shining database.
Also estabilishing a way to check the players between 22y and 27y who are usually left to their own destiny in many NTs.
Moreover I can tell you I'm very invested in all the mathematical aspects of the game
* TALENT compared to traning formulas, (see https://translate.google.it/translate?sl=it&tl=es&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fonline.sokker.org%2Fforum_topic%2FID_forum%2F24856%2FID_topic%2F2895678%2Fpg%2F0%23new&edit-text=&act=url)
* youth team player evaluation,
* skill updating and deskilling and so on...
(if you're interested I'll post the links)
Reasonably I can't promise something I can not guarantee, but if you'll be so kind to give me the chance to try, I'll really work to give the best I can, with my limits, but also with my experience.
If you'll rather have a local coach, I'll understand your choice, don't worry!
Thanks!

Interesting stuff..
Couple questions that came on my mind:
1) Why Czech? I'm not fishing for compliments about how awsome we are etc, wanna know if you had a particular reason, or was it just a random choice.
2) What's your favourite tactic(s) ? Can you post a link(s)?
3) What's your take on match (p)reviews for our community.
4) How serious spammer are you? :-)
5) You have a quite decent team, similar strenght to mine, if you beat me in arcade, I'll consider voting for you.
That's not really a question, but whatever :-)

Well...
1) Why Czech?
Well, to candidate myself was a decision I just took today. I'd like to test myself with a new experience in the game.
I perfectly know this ain't the best way: the best way is to work with the staff for some seasons, getting to be known by the community step by step with your reliability and so on.
But sometimes it's good to try to make something different.
*the Rational explanation*
So I started looking around for something new, seeing which coach was going to candidate again and Czech Republik was the largest community in which the coach said - if I understood correctly - he wasn't going to run again. I see no one was still running so I said "Why not?"
By the way Czech being the largest community I considered brings with this decision quite some responsability.
*the Irrational explanation*
My former favourite team striker was
Miloslav Brada
My actual stronger striker is
Patrik Nuslauer
both czech, both from the Olomoucký area.
Is there a stiker factory there? :)
Then I can post some funny memories about when I came to Praha and went to eat with some czech friends I knew in Hattrick, but that's OT, and that's not what you're interested in.
You want a good coach, not a funny storyteller I guess :)
2) What's your favourite tactic(s)? Can you post a link(s)?
From the best coach I worked with I learned what I think is a key thing for a NT coach: FLEXIBILITY.
Within reason, of course, but flexibility is essential.
Choosing a tactic and a lineup for a NT with a large pool of players is quite different from what you do in your own team. In your team, I mean, in my team I have a quite limited pool of players, so my options are pretty limited.
In NT you have a larger pool, but you're still limited but the player's FORM, INJURIES and such.
So it happened that sometimes you can run out of wingers (all with low form, or injured)... then you have to be flexible in your tactic and lineup choices.
Moreover that was about my own side, then there's the opponent and we all know that a tactic perfect for a specific opponent can be a disaster with another one.
For example: I played
* with 4 def and 5 def (never with 3),
* with 2 defensive mid, with 1, with none,
* with 2 wingers, 1 winger and a "half winger", just 1 winger, no wingers
* I've tried a playmaker to back the forwards, but I did not like it
* 1 or 2 forwards
So I think there's no "dress" good for all seasons.
You do the best you can with what you have, then it's up to the random.
3) What's your take on match (p)reviews for our community.
I'm not sure I got what you mean.
Match previews I'm used to are quite short, being the tactic ideas discussed mainly in the closed Fed.
Match reviews? Well the ones I've usually seen around are of two types:
a) if the team won, then it's because the coach is so good
b) if the team lost, then it's because of the random, the weather, the powerful forces that hide in the obscurity...
I can try and do smthing different, if I'll be the coach:
a) if the team won, then it's because I've been lucky
b) if the team lost, then it's all my fault
:)
Seriously, I think we underestimate the random effect here and in the real football games.
If you try to play 10 arcades in a row (so you'll have minimun form differences) with the same formations you'll be surprised to see the variance of the results.
Either there is a very large difference of values for ex.:
* Team A) wins 90% of the times
* Draw in 7% of the times
* Team B) wins 3% of the times
then you'll have a pretty consistent sample of A) victories even in small samples...
but if the team are very similar, you can have this
* Team C) wins 40% of the times
* Draw in 30% of the times
* Team D) wins 30% of the times
and so a very large pool of results... and a large uncertainty in small samples (i.e. numbers of matches played)
So... What can a good coach do?
In my opinion a good coach can move the %, but can not eliminate the equilibrium
so, if I were a very good coach of team C, then I can move with my tactical and lineup choices the % to
* Team C) wins 50% of the times
* Draw in 28% of the times
* Team D) wins 22% of the times
so all in all I'm not sure I will be "winning the game", but I just maximized my chanches
4) How serious spammer are you? :-)
I think yoy're starting to picture an image right now :)
5) You have a quite decent team, similar strenght to mine, if you beat me in arcade, I'll consider voting for you.
Naturally I'm happy to play.
But it's a perfect example of what I said before, given the similar level the random effect will play a large part, but it will be good just for fun.
Remember: as I promised if I'll win I'll have been just lucky, and if I lose then I sucked! XD

I'm lazy to read all the stuff, but I hope it's interesting enough :D I will wait if somebody appear lately, but I will consider you for my vote :)

Short version!
1) Why Czech?
Large community, good work can be done here, I think especially on the Database.
2) What's your favourite tactic(s)? Can you post a link(s)?
No dress is good for all the season, I'll be very FLEXIBLE due to the specific players I'll have on top form and on the specific opponent I face.
4) How serious spammer are you? :-)
It depends.
5) You have a quite decent team, similar strenght to mine, if you beat me in arcade, I'll consider voting for you.
It won't be that meaningful, but, well, why not? :)

I've read the long version :-) Good, honest, well thought, reasonable answers, I'm impressed. Especially your view of the random percantages, I have a similar opinion.
We'll see who will show up in these elections, but you are definitely serious candidate worth of considaration..GL

For the plan to be successfull, of course, every help from the Czech community will be very much appreciated!
I mean, I'd like the staff to be as much czech as possible...
Few people, but with a very organized structure.

i´m sure you must be a mathematician... to be honest, your answers impressed me and you will be one of the most important candidates for me.
Yep :)
I work on math and statistics on financial markets.
In these games I've always been pushed by curiosity, by the desire to understand "how it works".
That's why I got involved in a long series of studies, the results of which I published for all the Community... when I was a noob I found a kind guy who gave me the guidelines to understand this game... when I start to understand its complexity I kinda felt in love with it and started studying many areas...
And then publishing the results, so I'll help others to play it better.
I've been asked "why don't you keep your findings for yourself?"
Well, I think the more the people know, the better the game.
I've been asked to translate some of my researches into english and when I'll find the time I think I'm going to do it, but right now I'm still involved in some studies.
Should I post the links here?
I'm unsure.
I have to say that I was afraid that publishing these studies was kinda a sort of "showing off"... but thinking about it, it's not really... almost all my studies are not related to a "NT coach work"... so I think 90% of these can not interfere with your voting decision...
So, here we go:
1) Training part 1: the basis
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/2895017/pg/1
2) Training part 2: estimating the Talent (The one I posted above)

3) Training part 3: managing your Team
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/2908852/pg/1
here I integrated the talent I've estimated for every player with a view of the team, so I can estimate, for every player, how many weeks more of training are required for every skill to popup
4) Height, Weigh, BMI, Form
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/2986425/pg/1
a statistical stady on 50k players to see how are those parameters distributed
5) A study on deskilling
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/2985327/pg/1
how much are players deskilling, how much deskill arise in the players aging
6) Wage and productivity for the assistant trainers
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/2956600/pg/1
with an excel file that helps you evalutate the assistant price efficiency
7) Arena attendance study, what kind of attendance give you the best revenue
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/2913698/pg/1
the conclusion: the sold out is not the best outcome, 80% of attendance with higher prices gives you a larger revenue
8) Tool for evaluating the youngsters talent (for players just promoted from the young academy)
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/3036375/pg/1
9) a long time analysis on market price intraseasonal variance
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/3032553/pg/1
10) Training: is better to train the slow skill first or the fast skill?
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/3059994/pg/1
11) a study on the correlation between fan club size and sponsor income

12) a tool for the young academy: evalutating which youngster to hold and which one to fire
http://online.sokker.org/forum_topic/ID_forum/1274/ID_topic/3080712/pg/1
finally
13) the ITALIAN NT staff organization system I planned (and realized with the help of the current coach)

Have fun!
Even Im running for election Im giving you my vote ;) first of all I would not give vote to myself and next thing is I like your "crazy-into-sokker" attitude ;)
Dear friends, I want to thank you all for your kind welcome.
I'd like you listened to what I have to say and did not close your hears before even hearing my words, like it is common doing with foreign managers in other countries.
Kudos for that!
I saw no one was candidating here and I thought a good work could be done, but now a well known and experienced user like Din0 pop up.
I was still thinking about staying here anyway, but I got pressure from Vikingo67 to keep up the work we've done in Finland, so please forgive me, but I'm going to retire my candidature here.
I'd like to thank very very much the people who voted for me, giving me their trust.
In order to not disappoint them, and also for thanking the kind welcome you gave me, I'd like to offer Din0, if he would be interested, a bit of my expertise on the DB area, so that my short candidature here would not be for nothing, but giving anyway some improvement to the Czech community :)
Diky!
