Subject: David Strihavka - Banik Ostrava

According to this link, the team I support are close to signing David Strihavka. Does anyone know this player, and is he any good ?

Norwich sold Robert Earnshaw? I loved him when he played at Cardiff :)

He was youth player of Sparta Prague,but he didn´t get there big chance,so he was sent on loan to Blšany,small village which played few years our first league.After their relegation he took an offer from Baník Ostrava where he showed his talent,I remember that once he scored four goals in one league game :) !I don´t really know the number,but this year he was one of the Czech league best scorers.

He is able to play with the ball,he is skilful and handy.He would be quite good reinforcement for Norwich,he is young and good as I said.

Sadly, yes. Robert had a clause in his contract that said he could leave for little more than we paid for him if a Premiership team made an offer.

I'm affraid it isn't so great buy as you wrote. Before this season he had scored only 6 goals in highest league. I think it is a little bit risky bussiness for Norwich.
He can be successful, but still he cannot replace Robert Earnshaw.

on the other hand there were many players who were stars in the czech league and going abroad, thay played nothing as their skills didn't fit into playstyle of a new country. With his style of play he might find english league more suited for him than czech...
