Vorab:

Die Rasendiskussion ist in vollem Gange und der neue Trainer der deutschen Nationalmannschaft, der Moldavier Ice-T, hat sich so seine Gedanken zum richtigen Umgang mit dem Boden gemacht. "Die Fruchtfolge muss stimmen!", meint auch der Greenkeeper der Deutschland Arena, Bauer Stängel, der rechtzeitig vor dem WM-Test noch die letzten Spargelstangen aus den Strafräumen ernten konnte. Doch während sich Gott und die Welt über die pitch-maintenance und deren Verhältnis zur pitch-condition Gedanken macht und deren jeweilige Abhängigkeiten von diversen Wettereinflüssen per Excel untersucht, denkt der neue Coach schon weiter. In Rekordzeit stellte er ein Saisonprogramm zusammen und stand anschließend schon zu einem Interview zur Verfügung. Lest wenn ihr mögt erst den Originaltext; weiter unten habe ich alles nach bestem Wissen und besser Nichtwissen übersetzt:

1. Congrats Ice-T for becoming coach of the german NT. Did a dream come true?
Thank you Collunder. Trully this is a dream come true moment as I said earlier after seeing the results. From the start of my sokker account, I dreamt that someday I will take charge at this fine NT.

2. You're known as a brillant tactician. Did you found the players at the german NT you need for your tactics?
A small confession, when you said this : You're known as a brillant tactician., my raction was :

Shortly after winning the elections, cardaso was kind to give me access to the NTDB before monday, also fellows from Germant NT association gave me a kind welcome and as I see are making my blending into the team easier and faster. I must say the team is marvelous, certainly I have a full flexibility in tactics, though the new ME made the life a little bit harder (from first view), but I shall confirm or deny this statement after the first friendlies are played. Knowing the great players and the long bench of German NT, I am still highly motivated and eager to win matches.

3. You were really fast in fixing the matches for the upcoming season. Do you know the other coaches and talked to them before or how was it possible in such a short time?
I am just good at it. :-) And yes I do know many coaches, so basically arranging friendlies with Nederland, Romania, Polska, Moldova, Belgie, Norge, Israel where just a piece of cake. But I didn't arrange any friendlies before the end of elections, I was too pragmatic, it was the first time in my coaching career to act like that :)

4. The WC is definitely the top event this season. Personally you: are you mentally prepared for the tournament?
Oh yes, I am prepared for this tournament, and it is more spicy because we have Euro 2012 at the same time and I predict a great performance from Deutschland at this tournament, so I will try to keep up with them :-)

5. How is your plan to be prepared tactically and concerning the team?
My plan goes well, first step of it are the 2 friendlies I talk about so much, because here I will test 4 tactics which will help me understand better the new ME. But if you want to find out tactical surprises prepared for World Cup, I will certainly won't make it public. This will answer why:


6. Indeed! Better save than sorry. So thanks a lot for that little interview! During the WC there will hopefully again a few words of you. Final question: Are you gonna learn german during this season?
At school I studied 3 years Deutsch, but some time has passed I lost everything i could grasp. Still I have my dictionary with me, and even last season I was studying a bit Deutsch (as a hobby). This will be my 4th language so it will be a bit difficult. Concerning future interviews, I am looking forward to that.

Last question: What's your BMI?

1. Glückwunsch, Ice-T zur Wahl als Trainer der deutschen Nationalmannschaft. Ist ein Traum für Dich in Erfüllung gegangen?
Danke, Collunder. Ja, in der Tat, ein Traum wurde Wiklichkeit. Von Beginn meiner Sokker-Karriere an wollte ich irgendwann mal diese tolle NT übernehmen.

2. Du bist als brillanter Taktiker bekannt. Hast Du in der deutschen NT die Spieler gefunden, die Du für Deine Taktiken brauchst?
Ein kleines Geständnis: als Du schriebst "als brillanter Taktiker bekannt..." war meine Reaktion die folgende (A.d.Red. siehe erstes Bild im Interview oben). Ziemlich kurz nach der gewonnenen Wahl war cardaso so freunlich, mir noch vor Montag einen Zugang zur NT-Datenbank zu geben. Auch die anderen NT-Verbandsmitglieder haben mich herzlich willkommen geheißen und erleichtern und verkürzen mir die Eingewöhnungszeit. Das Team ist wunderbar. Zweifellos habe ich alle taktischen Möglichkeiten, auch wenn die neue ME uns das Leben ein bisschen schwerer macht (zumindest auf den ersten Blick). Aber ich bestätige oder revidiere gerne diese Äußerung nach den ersten Freundschaftsspielen. Jetzt, da ich die fantastischen Spieler, auch die der zweiten Wahl, kenne, bin ich hoch motiviert und heiß, Spiele zu gewinnen.

3. Du hast ziemlich schnell die Spiele für die kommende NT-Saison ausgemacht. Kennst Du die anderen Trainer, sodass Du sie vorher ansprechen konntest oder wie war dies in dieser kurzen Zeit möglich?
Ich bin einfach gut darin. :-) Und ja: ich kenne viele Trainer und das Ausmachen von Spielen gegen Holland, Rumänien, Polen, Moldavien, Belgien, Norwegen Israel war nicht sonderlich schwierig. Aber ich habe keine Spiele vor dem Ende der Wahl ausgemacht, da bin ich zu pragmatisch.

4. Die WM ist das Top-Ereignis der Saison. Bist Du selbst auch fit für das Turnier?
Aber klar. Ich bin bereit und dass die Europameisterschaft (im RL, A.d.Red.) zeitgleich stattfindet, ist das I-Tüpfelchen. Deutschland wird tolle Spiele bei der EM machen, da bin ich sicher - und ich mach es einfach genauso. :-)

5. Wie ist der Plan, auch taktisch für die WM vorbereitet zu sein?
Der Plan ist, in den nächsten zwei Spielen vier Taktiken zu testen, die mir helfen werden, die neue ME besser zu verstehen. Aber wenn Du irgendwelche taktischen Überraschungen, die bei der WM angewandt werden, rausbekommen willst, mach ich die natürlich nicht öffentlich. Spione sind überall!

6. Stimmt. Vorsicht ist die Mutter der Porzellankiste. Danke für das Interview. Während der WM werden wir hoffentlich wieder ein paar Worte von Dir hören/lesen können. Die letzte Frage: Wirst Du während der Saison Deutsch lernen?
In der Schule hatte ich drei Jahre Deutsch, aber mit der Zeit hab ich alles vergessen. Ich hab noch ein Wörterbuch und während der letzten Saison habe ich ein wenig Deutsch gelernt (als Hobby). Das wäre aber meine vierte Sprache und da wird es langsam schwer. Für Interviews bin ich aber gerne zu haben.

Und die allerletzte Frage: Wie ist Dein BMI?
24,7497... Was ist der ideale BMI? Falls ich Übergewicht habe, dann weil ich Krafttraining mache. :)

In the report everything is correct, but in the match Spitzley played as CML, while Ottl as RF(right forward).

I am delighted also by Haupt, he wasn't in my plans even today, just 1 hour before the match I decided to use him because... well because I have some "special techniques" concerning player selections :-) And my call was really great, first 2 shots of his went straight in! Also 2 great moments with close range shots that were almost in. And I can't forget Fach's performance, excellent saves, great display from him.


P.S. I am looking forward to a feedback from users from German NT association about 2 tactics used today. How would they rate'em, their objective opinion, suggestions...

You put two players on the same position on the same time. That probably created some confusion. First Napirala (6) and Baden (11) switched positions so Napirala played forward. Then Spirtzley came in for Baden. When Ottl came in for Napirala he had to play as forward.

The Idea was that Napirala goes as a forward in min 46 and in the same minute Spitzley subs him, but I don't know why Baden with Napirala changed.. Next time I will use at least 1 minute difference.

That doesn't work, because Napirala keeps his number (6) after you put him on the forward position.

The Pitch condition was horrible (condition 27%). In my opinion this hasn´t anything to do with sokker! The Ball chanced the direction in very obscure ways. From my point of view the tactic was brilliant. Your variable deffending line will lead to unexpectable german team... Good work. Keep on!

First tactic: defence was very safe against spanish low striker and i like the square on the left side (2 mids, wing and striker), that can create good possibilies to lance winger or striker. I think it could be a good tactic against equal or stronger opponents.

Second tactic: much more conservative, i think good tactic against weaker oponents.

The Pitch condition was horrible (condition 27%). In my opinion this hasn´t anything to do with sokker! The Ball chanced the direction in very obscure ways.

And this is why we are trying to get to greg, so he can change that. This is Sim Deutschland's stadium:

It has perfect grass, plus big stadium, but the official Deutschland team has o stadium and wrost ever pitch.

The first tactic has been used by me very often in past, so it is a strong one, but needs to be adjusted against every opponent. About second tactic, I guess the issue in conditional orders weakened Deutschland in second half.

In next match you shall again 2 different tactics, and I hope after these 2 matches we will be fully prepared for World Cup.
