Very good point, lets leave it at that. ;)

You guys are funny though, your football team reminds me of Englands cricket team with lots of foreigners improving it. I wish England would sign a few Argies or just one - Messi will do. :)

PS I think Oezil is a fantastic player by the way! So far he is equal to Messi in my eyes for shining at this WC.

Eine gute Meinung gegen Technik im Fussball. Aus dem SPON-Forum.

http://forum.spiegel.de/showthread.php?p=5768016#post5768016

We did not sign foreigners! They are all Germans and all (except Cacau) were raised and trained here in Germany and went through our U-Nationalteams. That their parents immigrated to Germany does not mean they are not Germans. Following your reasoning every (US) American would be a foreigner. Is Ashley Cole a foreigner in GB? (some of his ancestors came from Barbados if i remember right) ;)

LOL I knew somebody would bite! :)

Klose, Padolski, Oerzil, Cacau and other Polish names I cannot remember, I think he came on as a sub yesterday.

Oerzil chose Germany over Turkey due to it being more finacially beneficial from what I have heard....and who can blame him? Anyway I was not criticising as half our cricket team is South African now. lol

It is not just your team who does it, Japan has had Brazilians, Croatia do now and there are plety of players who play for countries that they were either not born in or their parents are not from that country.

I think Oerzil styles is the least German I have seen before, he has style, creativity, flair - generally he is a quality player and very un-german. I mean that with no disrepect as your players are usually disciplined and efficient if you know what I mean?

Oh and Owen Hargreaves - hes not English imo, he should have played for Canada!

I have to, if i read stupid stuff like this! Özil was born in Germany (Gelsenkirchen). He never lived in turkey nor were he ever educated or trained there. So how can it be, that he is a turkish footballer that is "very un-german"? Inform yourself before writing such bullshit. The DFB clearly learned from his "Rink- and Dundee-Advetures" and did not naturalize players anymore. I think you should consider that some things might change. The whole team plays more attractive and offensive than German teams of the near past.
2010-06-28 12:43:13
Chill out! I agree Germany played some great attractive football with Oerzil the architect. I know that he was born in Germany from a Turkish father (I assume a German Mother). You cannot seriously say that the rest of the team are similar and that you have lots of players like him in Germany? I know Der Kaiser has stated that he is the playmaker Germany never had before......

I know that Germany has a lot of Turkish immigrants settled in Germany and Poles. England has a lot of settled Europeans now too. At the end of the day I was just pulling you leg - not sure if you understand the term, anyway I was joking and jealous as we are crying out for a player like him too imo. I am fed up with the Lampard and Gerrards of our team who are massively overrated. You deserved the win and played better football than us. I think you stand a good chance against Argentina if you can play better than yesterday or maintain that performance. I do worry for you though in so far as we were toothless during the whole tournament up front and you pannicked as a team at 2-1. Against Argentina I fear you will be swamped by the attackers unless you can create pressure the other way.
2010-06-28 12:45:26
Which you wouln't have written after the match against Serbia.
Nevertheless I'm no fan of the Oezil at this WC. Sure, he scored against Ghana, he made the assist to the 4:1 yesterday but there are that much bad passes and so on. Just remember the match against Ghana. Untill his goal he played a lot of crap. And so he did yesterday during the first half.
2010-06-28 12:48:29
What do you try to say? Maybe you should read what i wrote here after the match against serbia. ;)
2010-06-28 12:49:54
The whole team plays more attractive and offensive than German teams of the near past.
2010-06-28 12:50:34
Not sure if this is true but Louw was supposed to be under pressure? Your performances in this WC are better and more attractive than I have seen from any German side before. This is just my opinion from this WC of course. Against Serbia you should have drawn at least despite being down to 10 men.

I remember seeing Oezil at the U21 championships last year (I think it was) and he looked the best player at the tournament. From what I have seen so far he is the one who is creating the space for your other players too, yesterday he caused us a lot of probalems and pulled our shape out. The assist for the 4th goal was simply brilliant imo.

I would take him in a heart beat to the English team. PS the goal against Ghana was a fantastic strike too, I am not sure how he is supposed to have played badly so far?

Franz is stating alot bullshit everytime someone holds a microphone in his direction, that doesn't mean anything. ;)
Yes i can say that seriuosly! Cacau is the only exception.
2010-06-28 12:53:13
Than you should have read what i wrote here before 'cause you made yourself a fool now. ;)
2010-06-28 12:55:13
LOL fair enough, and as I was saying I was joking, thats why I said "LOL I knew someone would bite!". ;)

Seriously though he is a very very skillfull player and I think much more important to your side than you are giving him credit for. He creates space, lays off the simple balls and makes things generally eaiser for those around him, imo he is a classy player. I like players like that, Messi etc - they make football worth watching. :)
2010-06-28 12:58:49

2010-06-28 12:59:31
If only he could score those superb chances that he had several times already. He seems to be afraid when he realises that there's only the gk left to beat.
