Subject: Vienna - Berlin: Train or bus?
- 1
Hi all,
I need some help here. I'm planning a trip in Europe for next winter (I know, not the best climate during December and January) and one of the plans I have is to do Vienna to Berlin, stoping in Prague a few days. In 2006 i did this same route in summer time and I really enjoyed it, Vienna to Prague by train, and Prague to Berlin by bus.
I know bus is cheaper than train, but it's also longer. I want to know if there is a way to do this journey by train (quicker) taking a ticket that let me stop in prague a few days paying no extra money (or just a bit).
I searched by Euro Railwas and InterRail. Euro Railways is very expense (high speed train??). For an open ticket they charge 243 euros (2nd class).
I'm traveling with my girlfriend, so if there is a slow train by night it would be acceptable too, if the cabin is private and with beds (I can't sleep on a regular seat! haha)
Well, thanks a lot for any recomendation!!

Did you look for a plane? Should be fastest and cheapest.
Yes, I did look, but I couldn't find a cheap flight (around 300 euros or more)
I found some trains tickets much cheaper than the one I posted before (between 50 and 80 euros).
I'll keep on searching
Thanks

But didn't worked for the date I would be traveling from Prague to Berlin, 29/12, the flight would take 8 hours (stop in Bonn= plus it costs 111 EUR each :S
So, I think i'm going by train.
By the way, how is it in Berlin during New Year? Some special place to go out that night??
Thanks!

Biggest party is near the "Brandenburger Tor". Nearly one million people are there every year.
