Subject: Düsseldorf hotel - help please!
- 1
Hi freunde!
I've been looking for hotels in Düsseldorf for Halloween dates (28th Oct to 2nd Nov) but all are full or too much expensive: not less than 1000€ for 5 nights in double rooms!
I wanted to ask you towns in the surroundings of Düsseldorf where we could find more cheaper hotels. And, of course, read your recommendations
We were also planing to travel to London or Amsterdam and there were hotels from 180€ / 4 nights, and we found them expensive, imagine our face when we found Düsseldorf's prices! o.O
And do you know why it could be? There's any special party there in that dates?
Danke!

maybe there is something special these 5 days. i also looked up several towns around (neuss, krefeld, mönchengladbach) and there was nothing cheaper than 1000 €. and even the worse hotels are completely booked then.
this is not normal for this region. maybe someone who lives there can tell you the reason why. i dont know.

hi
normally Düsseldorf is full when we have a big trade fair. 27.10.2010 - 03.11.2010 is the International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber. Maybe because of this.
We have lots of cities around. Very close is Duisburg, Neuss, Ratingen, Wuppertal, Oberhausen, Leverkusen, Mönchengladbach. Essen and Cologne also not far away. 30min with train. All cities I've mentioned have a good train connection to Düsseldorf.
I live on the way to Cologne and see lots of people coming from Cologne when we have a trade fair. Cologne is nice for going out, so I would recommend it. For example hotel "Europäischer Hof am Dom, Appellhofplatz 31, 50667, Köln - Zentrum" would be 450€ total for your dates. Maybe you will find something cheaper.
I was this year also in London and Amsterdam. Expensive cities. Our local prices are a bit lower for going out. But we have somethin for every price category :) Hotel prices I obviously never check here

You could looking for hotels in Wuppertal. It should be much cheaper and it's just 20-30 minutes from Düsseldorf by train.
I can recommend the Art-Fabrik Hotel in Wuppertal-Oberbarmen (5-10 min walk from train station Wuppertal-Oberbarmen). I was there for a business meeting in April this year.

At the end we will stay here for Halloween. All was a litlle bit expensive for us and we will wait for December to visit Amsterdam.
Thank you all very much mates!
