Right, we play Australia today in our last MWC Qualifier. We must win or we're out. If we win by 1 goal, qualification will come down to goal difference.

Australia are ranked 35th with 1748 points.
We are ranked 51st with 1320 points.

Australia's squad of 78 averages R5.3m.
Our squad of 71 averages R3.4m.

In the qualifiers so far, ratings for shooting/passing defending have been:
Australia -> 10/11/9 and 9/11/10
South Africa -> 9/10/9 and 9/9/10

There's no doubt that Australia go into this match as the favourites. However Iceland pushed them hard and went down 2-3, so we've got a chance.

The injuries and suspensions won't do us any good, but we live with it and it gives some other players a chance to show what they've got.

Expected line-up today:

Keeper
Lathan (Wuest)
Defenders
Ngaduana
Baloyi
Yohane
Goliath (Mulekelayi)
Midfielders
Mabizela
Makhanya
Chacho
Mazibuko (Khambule)
Strikers
Permall
Portgieter (Mugeyi)
4th sub
Shongwe

Well, that performance was woeful. To be more accurate, my tactics were far from adequate.

Australia 4 South Africa 1

If not for some superb keeping by Lathan and poor shooting by the Aussie strikers, they could've got into double figures.

With the MWC over for us, the objective now is to gain some positions in the world rankings to give our next manager a chance of a decent draw in the WC next season.

bad luck. The game against Island was the killer where you had more shots but were unable to come up with the points or a draw. Good luck with gaining ranking points for the rest of the season.

Thanks, cometer.

I see Island only scraped through against Honduras today, though they did dominate.

Island 2 Honduras 1

Possession -> Island 55/45
Territory -> Island 67/33
Shots -> Island 15 Honduras 4

Shooting/passing/defending:
Island 10/9/9
Honduras 7/6/6
