(Sorry, messed up the other thread)

A trend seems to be starting where managers of South African players ask me to use their players in upcoming NT matches.

My standard answer to this is: if they're good enough, they will play. If they're not good enough, I will gladly give my thoughts and suggestions for training requirements to get them into the team.

I will not use a player just to make someone happy. That is unfair to all the players, and their managers, that are ahead on the list.

Fringe players will get games when they're in form and the first team players are not, or if I rest a player to avoid a card or suspension ahead of a big game, or if a second string team is being used.

Young players may get a 'free cap' if there's a danger of losing them to the NT, but I've never done this yet.

Also, the NT squad has ballooned to 70 players following B team, U23 and U18 fixtures. I may trim this down a bit but it is not a priority. Any players that are being trained and appear to have the potential to play for the U21 or full NT will be kept in the squad, even if they are not currently regular players.

good to hear

Why do people do that.

I now dont even know how many of players are in the NT.

People should just give the NT manager the players stats or update the database instead of always asking for their players to be included.

That reminds me. Regardless of whether a player is currently in the NT squad or not, I have them in my spreadsheet (unless they're really old and useless).

My spreadsheet has all the skills of the players, and the date I got the last update. It currently consists of 297 players.

297!
Well done!
You prefer to update by SK@ or by database? For me it's without difference.

I check the database often for updates, so it's probably best to update there.

I've got no problem with sk-mail though, for those that don't use Firefox.

I use only Firefox, so the problem solved byself.

Guess it its time I also updated my players.
