Seca [del] to All
Greetings. I'm Seca, and I'm running for South Africa's senior NT manager position.

I'm a math teacher in my 30s. I've played Sokker for 13 seasons. My club has won it's league in 12 of those, 10 times in the top division in Canada. VFC has also claimed 7 national cups during that time. I have a fair bit of International experience as well, having managed both Team Canada and New Zealand in the past.

I stress communication, and try to use the NT to stimulate forum activity. I feel I have a strong understanding of tactics, and do try a variety of approaches. I don't always make the right decisions, but I do my best to learn from my mistakes.

I feel a little guilty running. I consider any NT position a privelege, and think I am being a little selfish running since I've already had a fair opportunity (with Canada & New Zealand). So I encourage you to check out all the candidates. If you do decide to give me your support, I will do my best to make the upcoming season a successful one. :)

I'm a fan of the way you have handled your NT positions in the past, Seca, and believe that your style is what we need over here right now.

The respect is mutual. Thanks for the support. :)

You'd think that one of these seasons South Africa would get a half decent Qualifying group draw. Horrible again this season. Being in a group of 5 (as opposed to 6) means there is no chance of sneaking one of those high 3rd-place finisher qualifying spots. So South Africa has to knock off two higher seeds to finish second.

The bright side (from my perspective) is that I know the New Zealand team very well. The down side is that finishing ahead of both New Zealand and USA will require some minor miracles. :S

Nothing is going to change until the devs do something about the ridiculous situation of the new nations. There is no way that new countries should be starting with enough points to make them 3rd seeds. It's ludicrous.

45 teams were seeded. We were ranked 47th because three new nations came in ahead of us. If I'm not mistakes, that's the 3rd season running we've been negatively affected by that.

Yeah it's pretty harsh, the only way around it is to force yourself to get above 1600 ranking points because that's where the new NT's get put. Was one of the drives and motivation to get Australia to a 2nd seed to potentially benefit from that after the past 2 campaigns have been less than friendly because of it.

Congrats, coach! :)

Thanks for the support! I consider it a great honour to run an NT. I will do my best to make the new season a successful one. :)

Can't make any promises about how we'll do. :P I suspect it's going to be tough sledding at times.

Congrats, if anyone can make this campaign successful, you'd have to have one of the strongest chances of doing so. Good luck with SA.

Just a quick note to let voters know I am standing for re-election.

The season had it's ups and downs. We kept the qualifying group honest, and made it interesting until close to the end.

The goal for the upcoming season would be to perform well in the mini-WC, and to stabalize the team's ranking at a level that will give it a more legitimate chance of qualifying.

Thanks everyone for you support. :)

The first goal for this season is to perform well in the Mini-WC. There is no reason South Africa can't achieve well ... winning isn't out of the question. :D

Second goal is to play some interesting friendlies after the Mini-WC. Matches that will be a challenge, but not insurmountable.

Third goal is to improve the team ranking as much as possible, and at the very least stay above the 1600 level.

Fourth goal is to trim down the roster. I haven't done much with it. It is unweildy. I plan to bring it down to the point where additions can be made ... so that up and comers can get a chance to prove themselves at the next level.

I will not seek re-election at the end of this season regardless of how it goes. :)

Glad you're with us for another season, Seca!

Here's hoping for a successful MWC run and maybe one of the other local managers will be willing to have a go at the job next season.
