Bad luck hopefully we have a better run next time

Understood about the passing. Not unusual to have limited options at U21 (especially in a small nation). The side is getting chances ... just need a little better luck around the net.

I like the 2 strikers against these weaker teams - especially when the team is having trouble scoring goals. Rebound goals are the easiest to finish, and are easier to get with an extra hand in the box.

The team has played pretty well both matches. Sometimes it's just a matter of "staying the course" until one's luck changes. :)

I ... err ... overslept and missed Lechesa's deadline (it was ~3:30 AM here :D). Was a fairly speculative price IMO. Will keep an eye open. :)

you can ask him to but him on TL again
2009-02-02 02:39:03
Really? :P

I'm reticent to do that, since the price was (obviously) exorbinant, and he seems like a border-line prospect. I doubt the vendor will stop training him since he didn't sell. If he's listed again, I'll consider him again. :)

Congrats on your first win! Very nice result against New Zealand. :) Strikers did a better job this week of converting opportunities.

We continue to get next to nothing from the wing. The winger doesn't seem to have enough technique to beat opponents, and on the rare occasions he does get by, can't get a cross anywhere close where it's supposed to be (I'm not dumping on the winger - good wing play takes a fair bit of skill to execute. And I do recognize the winger scored today, but it was the result of a horrible pass attempt rather then a nice shot ... not exactly a confidence builder :P).

I'd suggest making a second tactic. One that doesn't have a dedicated winger. Given the skills of the team, I think a true winger should be an occasional option to keep defenses honest, rather then an automatic default every week.

Thanks nice result indeed

I'm working on a second tactic so the team play more central
We have some nice future wingers but they are 18y now

Blankenberg can also play on the wing if his pace increase
This tactic works fine but i'm busy making a few new ones,
On different formations.

Congrats with the win

We win again in an close game we came 2 times behind and scored very fast the equlizer

Or winger didn't passed that well,i'm working on an tactic where we play central
In the 80th min i brought in an more faster attacker and he did his job well in the 3th goal
nice header, keeper saves 2 times and than it's an easy job for Nel to score the winning goal

I'm very pleased with this win :)

Well done again. A very nice win against a team with better average marks.

Wouldn't it be wise to have a reserve keeper on the bench though, just in case?
2009-02-14 02:19:53
You are being kind. Playing without a reserve keeper is ridiculous. We deserved to lose right there for that oversight.

I think we're very fortunate to get a win playing the same tactic for the 4th time in a row. Good thing the opposing manager also isn't a very active tactician.
2009-02-14 07:36:52
Nice win, glad old Nel could contribute
2009-02-14 10:40:58
if the tactic works fine why need change, but i'm busy on new tacs

That i played without keeper is my think, but your right i need to find an reserve keeper
the lose was close but it turned out well.

Because most NT managers are good tacticians and will pick apart someone who plays the same thing every week. I also debate that this tactic "works fine" (see the winger discussion earlier in the thread).

I'm more about process than results. The most obvious sign of team neglect is an incomplete line-up. The second most obvious sign of team neglect is playing the same formation and line-up every week. From the outside it appears there may be cause for concern, regardless of what the score was this past weekend.

Better start looking for those keepers. Shasha (and Roberts) picked up serious injuries yesterday. :(
2009-02-28 08:57:53
We need some new keepers because we only have a few of them
Some young defenders could be helpfull to for the futher
