Schalla to All
Maybe one of you guys who have been playing this game for a while can answer me this. One of my defenders only possess "very good defence". All the other have "excellent" or better, but the player with "very good" defence is outperforming the players with "excellent" in the matches (nobody seems to get through him). I just checked their form and the guy with "very good" defence is at superdivine, while the others are much lower. Is it not better then to have a "very good" player with superdivine form in the line up than an excellent player with poorer form? Also is their a way that one can increase form, or do you just play the guy and hope his form gets better?

it is indeed better to let the "very good" defender play then.

Increasing form is not possible, it's totally random. Sometimes it can help to let them play 2 matches a week, or just one if they are used to playing two...

form is one of the biggest misteries in sokker ;)

Indeed, it is a mystery. It's unlikely that it is totally random, but no-one seems to have figured out a way to control it yet. One sign of it not being random is the way that some players just continue to lose or gain form week after week.

Looking through my own players, I see that Bell has gone from incredible form to poor form in the last 11 weeks. He has lost form 7 times and stayed level 4 times. That's certainly not the kind of distribution you would expect from randomness. Figuring out why he's losing form, and how to improve it, is what has everyone stumped.

My best player, Kiano Cappoen, was under poor form in his first 3 seasons.

When he was good enough for A-team he climbed above magical form and never got under that again...

Ok, I've just had a look at one my weakest players, Cmiel. I use him as a wing but he doesn't play much, mostly just as a B team backup.

In the last 11 weeks:
-> did not play six times: lost 0, 3, 4, 0, 1, 1 form (one of those 0's he was already tragic)
-> played five times: gained 3, 0, 0, 3, 4 form

In other words, when not playing he lost form or stayed level. When playing he gained form or stayed level.
I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to everyone, but it must mean something.

It's a different picture with Baloyi, one of my NT players that is struggling with form.

In the last 11 weeks:
-> twice played both matches as def: lost 1, 2 form
-> once played both matches as mid: gained 1 form
-> twice played league match as mid: lost 0, 1 form
-> 3 times played league match as def: gained 2 and lost 1, 4 form
-> twice played friendly as def: lost 1 (half match) and 4 form
-> once played cup as mid: gained 1 form

Doesn't appear to be much of a pattern there.

Maybe form is connected to two things:

- player skills
- position in game.

I suspect that closer to position on field which use max player skill, the higher his note, the form is growing.

There could be something to your idea. Looking at Baloyi again:

Played as MID -> +1, 0, -1, +1
Played as DEF -> -1, -2, +2, -1, -4, -1, -4

His form appears to be better when playing as a MID.
This doesn't help much though because his best skills are by far PACE and DEFENDER.

When I'll have enough (correct?) time I search how looks like my DEF-MID when playing as a MID or DEF.
I also look at my OFF-MID when playing MID or ATT, and ATT sometimes as a MID.

those stuff completely random

Then, what with 'chaos theory' ? :-)
