Looking forward to the game, will not be able to watch it live :) but will be here to watch as soon as i am online
Hope you've watched the match. If not, go watch it now! :)
What a game it was. The end result was fair, based on team strength and the overall balance of the game, but it could have gone either way.
It was mission accomplished in the sense that we got 3rd place in the group, but we were never going to qualify with the seeding structure as it was. Dropping points against Nigeria wouldn't have helped though.
In the end, we finished ahead of Srbija despite their higher average marks. Here is a table of average marks in the competition, with the qualifiers shown in bold (taken from a post by Nin in the main forum).

Overall, we fared pretty well, only losing to Germany and Poland.
We'll be closing out the season with a couple of friendlies. First up is an U18 match with Chile (going to be fun trying to find 11 players to start in the match), then Uruguay and Senegal. I haven't settled on the age groups for those matches yet.

great work mate!! Really appriciate all the hard work u put in!
I hope that next season you will take a place that guarantee SA World Cup Qualification! :)
Thanks! Yeah, a group without 2 of the 4 strongest sides would be nice, and maybe throw in a weak side too. ;)

I think that SA under your control made a big advance and now will be draw from 3rd basket(?).
Not quite 3rd basket ... would need to climb ~8 ranking spots (assuming the same number of groups in the next qualifications). Perhaps a goal for next season? :)
Yip since Marcl has taken over it has been super. It is not an easy job ask me i have been coach :) Thx again Marcl for the time and effort
8 spots hey? So around 39?
I must admit I haven't made it a goal to try to climb in the rankings and it's definitely worth considering.

important job to do in off-season for you: smart friendly schedule :)
8 positions isn't as easy as it sounds. It would probably take ~300 ranking points, which is a lot when playing friendlies (as opposed to official matches).
You have to play against higher ranked teams and beat them up!
Yeah, I've been looking into the calculations and found some info in the forums. What I haven't found is how the points work in friendlies as opposed to official matches.
Making the 3rd pot would be great and is worth attempting to achieve, but I'll also have to consider the fixtures lined up next season. Last time, there was the Mini WC and the U21 WC. If those take place again, avoiding them and trying to organise suitable fixtures will be difficult to say the least.
