Because he won't play anyway, he will probably still injuried. Wouldn't means that he would not play if he will be able to play.
Yes, but it's first conditional and it doesn't fit to this situation. So there should be used second conditional.
Anyway what Shadow said wasn't conditional but simple perfect tense. "Will" describes something what probably is going to and, what's the most important, CAN happen, "would", in this meaning, tells what COULD happened if something else haven't happened - for example Duklys's injury.
