Again, the match didn't go as I would have wanted...
Andreasson had made, honestly, a perfect defensive tactic that was extremely difficult to break through. I had placed our strikers a bit too low so they weren't on the same line with the defenders when they got the ball but just in front of them, therefore they lost the ball right after they got it all the time. Fortunately we have such a forward like Kueinskas who is simply amazing - nothing's impossible for him :)
I tried to play Varaneckas on the position where he would be most effective, but he was completely out of the play for most of the time. I didn't even figure out why team-mates didn't give him the ball, but tried to pass it into the bunch of Österreich defenders in the centre around our strikers...
I should try playing way more offensively. We have great defenders and they can handle it anyways, but we need to start creating more and better opportunities for a goal.
Now the next match is most probably gonna be the one where betting competition players will participate.

i was also very surprised to see Varaneckas never get the ball from his team mates... almost invisible in the first 60 minutes... but for the last 30 minutes he was more involved and hit in some dangerous crosses... and a nice corner for the third goal...
Yup, at least he got an assist in the end :)
I'm gonna have to try him again on the wing and maybe play with two high wingers. Then they should get the ball more often I hope :P

Most probably the squad for today is:
1 Oselis Slizkis GK
2 Balis Šižgutovas DEF
3 Voldimaras Makutėnas DEF
4 Jovydas Kaknevièius MID
5 Kažys Kumštis DEF
6 Kristavas Šakėnas MID
7 Meldas Kudirka MID
8 Artûras Burokas ATT
9 Jurikas Vilbutas MID
10 Manvilis Valionis ATT
11 Vladislovas Korsakas ATT
Playing a 343 tactic like:
---10--11--8---
-----------------
----6------9----
------4--7------
-----------------
----2---3---5---
-----------------
--------1--------
It's possible that we will concede quite a few goals, but I hope we can score more. Though it's not gonna be easy to win today

The match was better than I expected. :)
Albania had decided to play with one high winger and one striker but fortunately the winger had a bad day, his shots and passes were unaccurate. :) Our defenders managed to keep the clean sheet and when we were attacking, it was dangerous for the Albanians all the time as we had some nice striking force up front. Hurray to Valionis, great long-distance goal from far outside the box!
In my opinion our tactic was surprisingly quite OK, I'm thinking of using something like that in the next match too... gonna have to push the wingers higher and bring one striker down to the midfield. But we'll see

I am pleased with the match today and I think our tactic was quite good too. It was especially designed against Hellas and worked out not too badly. The only thing that annoyed me was that Hellas still managed to score a goal although we had 3 defenders guarding the lone striker :) Nevertheless, we scored quite a bit too. In my opinion our wing-backs Kisielius and Miškys were in the right positions as they managed to stop the Hellas wingers most of the time and yet weren't too far down so that they could go pretty high on the wing and help our offence. A few nice goals were created by the wing-back throwing the ball to the winger, who made a cross for Kueinskas to knock in. :) I especially liked how we controlled the midfield with our 3 central mids Varaneckas, Grybauskas and Kaknevieius. The main idea of my tactic was to play offensively and yet not to lose control in the back too and I think we mostly managed it. Against Bolivia I will probably play more offensively but against Bosnia next week I think a similar tactic like today would be good too. Hellas and Bosnia play quite similar formations

Now that was an awful match... Although we didn't have much luck on our side either and our strikers wasted some great goal chances, but the Bosnian defence was rock solid. I'm especially dissapointed about the 2 goals we conceded, 2 goals out of 3 chances. To start from the beginning of the problem, it's a shame that we even let them get so good goal chances. Our defenders are more to blame than keeper Valatka. I thought 3 central defenders would be more than enough against 1 opponent's striker... it seems I'm gonna have to play more defensively and with 4-5 defenders or play more offensively, with 3 strikers, so that we would maybe score some more even if we concede a few. Against Bolivia the second option would obviously be more sensible. We don't have other strikers of the same level as Kueinskas, but they aren't lousy too. Apart from Valentukevieius and Ašutaitis I can also consider using Korsakas - been away from the NT for a long time, but he still has the power :) he's not in his best form though; Burokas - speedy trickster who may simply run past weaker defences; Liesys - haven't used him yet, but he's on the same level with the other guys. I can see he played a lot under the previous manager, WilyJackal; Palmileras - a young fella who causes troubles in the Estonian league. We'll see which tactics and players will be chosen

Weell.. I think other countries are reading our forums so don't show how you'll play before the match.. But say it after the match :)
Yeah, you're probably right. :P I'm only giving a few hints though and I hope it's not really easy to guess the players and tactics I will use by only that little piece of information :)
The match is due to start in less than an hour, but I'll make a short preview anyway :)
Bolivia
Manager: Marcos23 - a Bolivian manager who is playing in the second strongest division of Bolivia. Received 13 votes in the last elections which was 50% of all the voters.I don't really know if he has managed an NT before or not...
NT Rank: 73rd (6th from the bottom)
Rank points: 807.982
Matches in Group M:
Bolivia - Hellas 1-2
Bolivia - Bosna i Hercegovina 1-2
Österreich - Bolivia 8-1
Canada - Bolivia 5-0
Average mark: 47.3
Average team rating: good
Previous meetings with Lietuva: I believe there has been none
Unavailable players:
Quite a few players on the list but it's not surprising as they have 96 players in NT :)
Jesús Avaroa - injury (23 days). A young defensive midfielder, not a first-teamer.
Adrián Huamán - injury (21 days). Central defender, one of the key players.
Facundo Orihuela - injury (10 days). A keeper who only has one gap from a time which was long ago... :P not an important player.
Kair Sotelo - injury (10 days). A 30-year-old defender or midfielder. Has 46 gaps but hasn't played anymore this season.
Gonzalo Alem - slight injury. Gonzalo is a goalie who hasn't played for NT anymore for a long time.
Players to keep an eye on:
Carlos Ugarteche - a great young defensive midfielder who has one assist in his record this season
Gustavo Yacoel - a 24-year-old veteran attacking/creative midfielder with 58 gaps under his belt already
Alfredo Aramayo - the top hitman with 36 goals in 51 games. Has also scored all 3 goals for Bolivia in Group M so far.
Match begins on Saturday, December 8, at 17:59 (SK Time)
