The match is due to start in less than an hour, but I'll make a short preview anyway :)

Bolivia

Manager: Marcos23 - a Bolivian manager who is playing in the second strongest division of Bolivia. Received 13 votes in the last elections which was 50% of all the voters.I don't really know if he has managed an NT before or not...

NT Rank: 73rd (6th from the bottom)
Rank points: 807.982

Matches in Group M:
Bolivia - Hellas 1-2
Bolivia - Bosna i Hercegovina 1-2
Österreich - Bolivia 8-1
Canada - Bolivia 5-0

Average mark: 47.3
Average team rating: good

Previous meetings with Lietuva: I believe there has been none

Unavailable players:

Quite a few players on the list but it's not surprising as they have 96 players in NT :)

Jesús Avaroa - injury (23 days). A young defensive midfielder, not a first-teamer.
Adrián Huamán - injury (21 days). Central defender, one of the key players.
Facundo Orihuela - injury (10 days). A keeper who only has one gap from a time which was long ago... :P not an important player.
Kair Sotelo - injury (10 days). A 30-year-old defender or midfielder. Has 46 gaps but hasn't played anymore this season.
Gonzalo Alem - slight injury. Gonzalo is a goalie who hasn't played for NT anymore for a long time.

Players to keep an eye on:

Carlos Ugarteche - a great young defensive midfielder who has one assist in his record this season
Gustavo Yacoel - a 24-year-old veteran attacking/creative midfielder with 58 gaps under his belt already
Alfredo Aramayo - the top hitman with 36 goals in 51 games. Has also scored all 3 goals for Bolivia in Group M so far.

Match begins on Saturday, December 8, at 17:59 (SK Time)

Nice preview, keep up the good work, and win the match today :p

I liked it. :)

Fortunately for us Bolivia didn't make a surprise as did Österreich with overplaying Canada and Hellas playing a draw with Bosnia in our Group M matches today. Our match was quite enjoyable imo although maybe not so interesting. :P I'm satisfied I chose to play more offensively than before. We didn't have problems with our defense, only a few situations where the Bolivian strikers managed to make a shot but they weren't too dangerous for us. Varaneckas was probably better than before today, linked well with the central midfielders and the strikers and although he only got one assist, he created many goals with his passes from the wing. The performance of Liesys made me wonder why I hadn't used him before. He was definitely much brighter than Valentukevieus today and formed a great striking duo with Kueinskas - we'll see how he does against a stronger opponent. Palmileras couldn't get the party started at first but fortunately he got one goal in the end at least. :) Miškys was good today with two assists, but Juknys and Grybauskas both were quite poor, probably because of low form.

Next week we'll probably have a U21 match against Schweiz. I'll start calling up players soon
2007-12-08 23:57:58
I've now gathered some U21 players and this is the (not complete) squad:

Keepers
Rolfas Valutavičius
Patapijus Kevelaitis

Defenders
Meilutis Kuniskis
Rimandas Jaseliūnas
Jokûbas Voliukevičius

Midfielders
Slavekas Liutvaitis
Ąžuolas Voroneckas
Vjačeslavas Šniaukas
Simeonas Žlobas
Dinajus Galeckis
Levas Mirskis

Forwards
Prakofijus Rabinovičius
Apolius Pročuchanovas
Manvilis Valionis
Sabinas Kaženauskas

Some people may fall and others might get in as this list is not completed yet

The biggest issue are defenders, either there are no Lithuanians with both high defending and pace skills or I just can't find them. We have several brilliant defenders with decent pm/passing/tech who desperately need some pace...
2007-12-09 18:14:41
I can buy i teach pace for defenders :)
2007-12-09 18:40:10
Thanks, I'll let you know if someone wants to sell his Lithuanian def ;)

Most of the U21 defenders are already being trained in pace though, I'm just surprised of the low level... they're already 21yo but they have almost no secondaries
2007-12-10 17:51:38
Things have gone that way that it's gonna be a U23 match instead against Switzerland this weekend
2007-12-10 19:16:51
It's a pity ... The youngsters would have received further experience and extra training, what would have been interesting because it is not a very strong generation.

Nevertheless good luck to the U23-squad :o)

Rimandas Jaseliūnas , age 20
value: 392 250 €, wage: 2 775 €
divine form

good stamina,
formidable pace,
weak technique,
weak passing,
hopeless keeper
brilliant defender
adequate playmaker
adequate striker

From incredible to brilliant defender in 5 weeks. Needs some other pace.

He'll be great for Lietuva in the future :)
2007-12-22 14:20:43
I realized I hadn't written any comments about the U23 match last Saturday, but the game was not good so I'd rather avoid the topic. :P I can defend myself though with the fact that we had more younger players on the field, with several 21yo and 20yo men against 23yo Swiss players.

About today - 16 goals out of 32 shots and I'm happy! :)
Varaneckas and Kueinskas form a deadly duo together and they were especially awesome today as they had both had succesful trainings this Thursday. I'm glad we managed to break the 14 goal record we had last time against Bolivia although I hadn't changed anything in our tactics today (it had worked well and I didn't have any ideas to make it better). We had several players in our line-up today who played their first match this season and I am satisfied with them all. Povilaitis was solid at the back, Medelis and especially Chamentauskas made great assists from the midfield, Sirotavicius offered us a beautiful hat-trick. Gerbutavieius may have made a bit better, but at least he got one goal as well. The one I am mad at today is Liesys, he didn't do anything at all on the pitch beside that one header that found the back of the net. A really poor performance compared to what we saw from him last time against Bolivia.

Next week we're facing Greece and I'm hoping to score more than we did last time against them. I'm gonna have to think whether to play as offensively as today or a bit more carefully.

Here comes the preview of tomorrow's game against Bosnia :)

Bosna i Hercegovina

Manager: okoance_ - he is the Bosnian linguist playing in the second strongest division in Bosnia. His results in the league and in the cup have been quite unvaried through the past 3-4 seasons. He has fallen out of the Kup BiH after in round 6 for three times in four seasons and has finished his 2.Liga.01 with silver medal for three times in a row. This season might be the breakthrough for him as he's the first in his league with a 5-point lead at the moment.

NT Rank: 39th
Rank points: 1441.33

Matches in Group M:
Bosna i Hercegovina - Österreich 2-2
Bolivia - Bosna i Hercegovina 1-2
Bosna i Hercegovina - Canada 0-2
Lietuva - Bosna i Hercegovina 3-2
Bosna i Hercegovina - Hellas 1-1
Hellas - Bosna i Hercegovina 0-1

Average mark: 54.7
Average team rating: very good

Previous meetings with Lietuva:
Lietuva - Bosna i Hercegovina 3-2 (01.12.2007)

Unavailable players:

Unfortunately for us, every single player of their 53-man squad is free and fit to take part of the match. :P

Players to keep an eye on:

Dubravko Škrielj - one of the most capped players of Bosnia with 61 matches for the NT. The monster defender (part of the famous rock-solid back line of Bosnia) with a value of 1 mln € was transferred to a top Polish club for a price of 7 mln € in September. He surely has gained plenty of experience from the NT and Polish second division matches.
Kulin Ćulafić - the defensive midfielder has scored two and assisted five in 18 matches. He also gave an assist the last time against us.
Mensur Džajić - a versatile forward whose efforts in Group M this season peak with two goals and one assist so far. He also hit the back of the net against our NT.
Šuto Zeljković - a young star striker is definitely the one to be afraid of. He didn't play against us the last time but he seems to be ready for action this time.

Match begins on Saturday, December 29, at 12:00 (SK Time)

1 Reinaldas Kalenikas -/10 If I remember correctly, he didn't make any saves, therefore I have nothing to rate.

2 Arnis Povilaitis 8/10 I preferred Povilaitis and Jonyla over Vaitmonas and Patinas because they had better playmaking and passing skills. I was hoping we could hold more possesion and they more or less completed their tasks. Defensive work was also solid.

3 Anzelmas Ðutkus 8/10 Nothing to complain about, we kept a clean sheet and Anzelmas didn't leave the Bosnian strikers a single chance to slip through our defence. Excellent!

4 Dangiras Blaþys 7/10 Although there were a few rare situations where he seemed maybe a bit dodgy, he generally did his job very well. Our defence was very strong today.

5 Dominykas Jonyla 8/10 The same goes for him as I said about Povilaitis. Managed to eliminate his Bosnian winger and gave accurate passes.

6 Udrys Chamentauskas 8/10 Great work in the midfield. I'm glad I discovered Udrys as we don't have many high-leveled midfielders and he's especially vital now as both Medelis and Grybauskas are suffering in low form. I was especially suprised of how well he managed to steal the ball from the Bosnian midfielders even from behind.

(75. Arminas Grybauskas 7/10) Didn't get much time to spend on the pitch but he was active and gave some nice passes. Performed well despite of his form trouble.

7 Jovydas Kaknevièius 9/10 I decided to use a different configuration of midfield this time, with Jovydas being the attacking/creative midfielder. He definitely worked his socks off and played a beneficial role as a link between the midfielders and strikers. Great co-operation with Palmileras which peaked with an assist for Jovydas.

8 Mikolajus Miškys 8/10 Another solid part of our midfield. Excellent defensive work, passing and linking with the other midfielders. I wasn't sure how my (sort of unusual) layout of midfield would work but fortunately it was very good :)

(75. Kajus Medelis 7/10) He wasn't given much time to prove himself too, but he took the best out of it.

9 Tanislovas Varaneckas 7/10 I knew it would be extremely hard to play with a high winger against Bosnia as their 5-man defense line covered the flanks completely, but I still decided to try as Varaneckas is too good on the wing. :) He did manage to break through the Bosnian defense (which I wouldn't have believed) and create a few dangerous situations before his dissapointing red card. But we did well without him too :P

10 Aldimantas Sirotavičius 6/10 He didn't play badly today, but then again, he didn't score. Had a couple of shots of which one even hit the post.

(46. Stanislavs Palmileras 10/10) Todays hero :) Scored 50% of his chances and it's more than enough for me. :) Slipped through the rock-solid defense line amazingly and brought us the victory.

11 Emilijus Kuèinskas 7/10 Not too bad, but expectations are always higher for him. :) I thought Emilijus has to become the rescuer for us again as he scored our first goal... but then Stanislavs came onto the pitch. :)

Some information:

Would someone like to buy a 20-year-old Lithuanian midfielder Mironas Vuičekas to train him in pace and technique? With only a few more levels in both skills, I believe he would take part of the U21 World Cup (if Lietuva should participate :P) next season. Please contact me or his owner if you are interested in helping Lietuva NT ;)

About his talent:

formidable passing to outstanding passing 3 weeks
outstanding passing to incredible passing 4 weeks
incredible passing to briliant passing 3 weeks + 6-7 general trainings

he was magical junior with talent 3,5

seller must by a liar look at this
2007-12-29 21:25:09
Hmm... whether he lied or his memory let him down :P
But either way the player has developed well with 2 seasons and I believe the talent he said should be right

Or is there in your youth topic something said about his talent too? Didn't notice, but then again I don't understand Lithuanian
