Lietuva starts against Scotland. Winning the first match will be very important. I agree that the number of users affects the U21-NT's in particular.

Good luck to Lietuva :o)

Thanks :)

Unlucky with the group but I wouldn't have had high expectations anyway. I'm just playing the U21 matches for fun. :) It would be nice if we were lucky enough to gather some points as well though :P

A tough, well organized midfield is necessary I think. I've seen Scotland, France and the Netherlands play with a winger in most occasions.

There are some opportunities to hurt them if you see how their midfield is disposed.

Central defense is ready for the U21 WC.

Nice victory for Lietuva, congratulations. The left back defender appeared a bit slow, I think Kuniskis is more appropriate to cover the adversary winger.

Lietuva showed a good tactic, a dangerous wing with some great opportunities even to score more goals.

Defense looked solid. I think Lietuva can reach further than most people suspected.

Martys Kazlovas, age: 20

solid stamina, tragic keeper
good pace, formidable defender
outstanding technique, excellent playmaker
incredible passing, weak striker

Maybe there's someone among you who'd like to buy this promising young fella to teach him some pace

Nederland-Lietuva 2-1. What can you say about this match? You get 2 goals from distance shots. What a pity.

Everybody considered Lietuva as a weak team, but I think Lietuva proved that it can cope with the stronger teams.

There still is a chance against France, but Nederland will certainly beat Scotland. Goal difference can become important. Let's say that if Lietuva wins by one goal of difference it gets on +3. Nederland is nog on +0. Fingers crossed for next week.

If Lietuva will be eliminated, it will certainly not have been a bad U21 WC. We saw some beautiful actions on the pitch, with some promises for Lietuva's future.

Get the striker higher up on the pitch so Zlobas has a chance to play a nicer cross.
Guess you expected nederlands def to play more offensiv.
I think Lietuva was the better team today.
The tactic was better at least and nederland only scored those lucky punch goals, what a pity :(
There is serious lack of playmaking in the defensive part of this U21 NT though!

I agree with both of you completely :)

I'd like to point out a couple of things I find ridiculous about the match although they've already been mentioned:

1. The way Nederland scored both of their goals. Imo they had only one real chance to score a goal throughout the whole match, it was a one-on-one situation in the second half and they didn't take it. So I think Synanovičius should have had a clean sheet instead of conceding two, considering how rock-solid our defense was (especially at the second half)
2. The passing abilities of our defenders. It's a nightmare. Its' a chaos. I feel like strangling Stupokas, Micrtumianas and Kuniskis with my own hands if they were real persons

I'm feeling a bit unhappy as we were damn close to at least a draw against such a powerful opponent. Anyway I think we made a strong effort and gave all that we could.

Zlobas sucks today.
He has space, but still no chance against that defender.
1:2 halftime

Nice assist from my Dossa..his first for France:)

Thanks to him Lithuania got penalty aswell.

3:1 is the score.

France is stronger, but I think the ME helped them a bit too.

3 yellow cards for their defenders, one of these on Lietuvan striker that broke through->penalty but no red card!

French strikers were very fast and technical, especially in the first half Lietuva had some trouble in defence. I'm not very happy with Jaseliunas' first half, his second half was better. He played with more autority then.

Last week Lietuva got robbed, but nevertheless the U21 youngsters made a quite good performance, especially in the first two matches.

Second half time was better for Zlobas.
Thats when formidable stamina comes handy for U21.
Had a few nice crosses, but either not on target or striker did not get the header.
That was about it.
Midfield had no chance today, either france midfield has very high defending or Lithunians midfielder have no technique.

You are talking nonsense now. Player who makes a foul on penalty box must get a red card?
Lithuania had lot of luck, that France scored only 3 goals. They had so many 1on1 situations, but defenders tackled strikers at the last moment and ball bounced to keeper.

O yes Vilpu, when you make a foul against a striker that's breaking through, and running to the goalkeeper, you get a red card in real soccer.

They got 3 yellow cards for fouls on a Lietuvan striker that was going to face the goalkeeper. I think that one red card should have been shown.
