Subject: [NT] World-Cup Quali

In my opinion, when facing great opponents, also the left and right defender should have a very high defender skill.

Most strong countries play with a winger, with a very high level of technique + pace. Guys like Zlobas (and stronger players) play on the wing, to hurt the sides of the opponents. Some countries have got wingers with divine technique ...

Belgium for instance, plays with almost 4 divine defenders, just to make sure that every attack from the opponent winger, can be stopped.

I watched some parts of the game, and in 41' you see what happens when Tembo (Denmark's winger) gets too much space.

In many occasions nobody covers him - he's free - and with his pace and technique he can simply move forward and become dangerous.

A strong defender should stay on either sides in defence. In last WC England for instance, could win against a lot stronger opponents by using the wing as a great tactical weapon.

Lietuva is a top class NT, and if defensive part is all right, with guys like Kueinskas on attack you don't have to fear anyone.

Yes, the problem was, that our defenders Myskis and Kisielus were to offenisv... So Tembo had too much space, that was my mistake.

Lietuva 3:1 Mexico

A solid game from our team! This victory was really important for us, we know now that we are ready! Mexico is the number 12 from the ranking, and they became 1st in the Quali-Group with Polska. So they are a strong team.

The defense was much bether then last week because I let the winger-defenders play more defensive. The whole team was more compact (defense more offensiv). So we were 90minutes of the game the bether team and had 14 shoots (Mexico only 3!!!).

With this game we showed that we are ready for the World-Cup!

Come on Lietuva! Let`s go

Very solid game indeed. Bravo is one of the best forwards in Sokker, and he wasn't dangerous a lot of times.

If defense is solid and covered on the wings, Lietuva can beat a lot of top rated teams with such strikers.

Jaseliunas rating 53, I'm wondering how he will do when he has a level more PM, stamina and technique :o) He's great as a defender on the wing, where technique is less important.

Nice victory!

Yes, Jaseliunas made a good game. Our defense was really strong today, Bravo is one of the best strikers in sokker.
The only little problem we had was again our strikers, we had chances for 5-6 goals, but maid only 3.

All in all we are ready for the world-cup, we can beat quiet all other teams.
