Match report: Lietuva 4:0 Eesti

Our first WC-game was a big thing for us. We won with a high result agains a "stronger" team, the number 5 in the World-Ranking. In this match-report I want to give votes to our players and talk a bit about the game again.

Votes: 1-10, 10 is the best

Kalenikas: 10 -best player on the field, saved 3-4 times in a miracolus way! He brought us this important win.

Blabys: 8 -he was really strong too, won very much balls and made a big part in our strong defense!

Ruckevicius: 7 -without any mistake, but he wasn`t so strong and didn`t have so many 1/1 situations

Patinas: 9 -he had the hardest job to do, because on his side was the Eesti winger. But we didn`t get a goal, so he did a really good job!

Chadcevicius: 10 -wow! best defender in my eyes, won quiet all 1/1 sitations and was our defensive leader!

Kisielus: 7 -good game from him too. Won many balls but there were some bad passes. All in all: good game.

Grybauskas: 8 -he was our leader in the midfield. Played a good game, but he can even bether.

Zimnickas: 3 -I tried to play with him because we hadn`t Myskis and Kaknevicius. But he lost all balls, my mistake...

Varaneckas: 5 -Surely not his game. The tactic was also hard for him, he had always 1 Eesti defender before him, hard job... There was also the red card.

Kucinskas: 8 -3 chances, 2 goals. He scored twice and couldn`t score with a penalty. and he had a hard handicap because his injury in the first (!!!) minute

Samutinas: 9 -2 chances, 2 goals. Great game from him.


We see, that we need a great game from all our players to make a good game like today. And next week we play against Portugal, there we will need a good game again, otherwise we won`t win.


Tactic:
In my eyes, our tactic worked really good. The defense played offensive and Eesti had many offsides (7 in the first half). Of course we couldn`t play beautiful, but this is quiet impossible against a team like Eesti. And at the end, the result counts, and the result looks beautiful :)

How to continue?
This win is important, really important. Now we can qualify with a win against Portugal... And it showes us, that we are a strong team with chances to do a few surprises. Few managers said before the WC, that Eesti could be the hardest enemy of Polska this year. And I think, that this could be. But Lietuva will also be there :)
So I work hard also for the next game, we will need an other good game. And then, we see what we can do in this World-Cup...

Congrats Andreasson, great result. Lietuva will for sure be able to work on the gameplay. If Lietuva could qualify against Portugal, some players could get some rest during the third game.

Portugal : Lietuva

After the first win against Eesti our team has the big chance to qualify already in the second game! To do this, we need a win against Portugal. They lost their first game with 2:1 against USA but they are a hard enemy... They change their tactic from game to game, so it`s hard to play against them.

I will work hard and search the perfect tactic to play a good game again. More to the tactic, the set-up will come later on this week.

I can`t believe it!

After Myskis, Dutkus, Kaknevicius, Varaneckas etc. now also Mitrofanas Samutinas is injured and can`t play.
Thats really unbelievable... Now I have to change the tactic again or I set-up Asutaitis in the attack.

Kueinskas on his own can destroy a whole defence ;o)

I will think about this question... We have to win, then we are through.

Not losing is also great, and with Kueinskas the chances of winning the game are realistic, even with so many injuries.

I think that I found a good tactic again. But we will see :) And my aim is clear: I want a win. But: Portugal is a strong team too, and you are right: With a draw our chances would also be really good.

Portugal : Lietuva

In a few minutes we have our first chance to qualify for the next round! The oppunent is Portugal, they lost with 1:2 against USA in the first game... Portugal uses "all" tactics, mostly they play really offensiv with much risk. So I will play with a defensive tactic. I don`t want to take a risk in this game: If we win, I`m happy, also if we win "only" with 1 goal different.

Kucinskas has to play also with a slight injury... Thats bad, but he has only 1 day remaining from his injury and Palmileras (our 4th striker) is in bad form. So I take this risk and I hope that Kucinskas will score and help us to win this important game.

Tactic:
I play with a 5-3-2. The team is very compact again, the defense is very offensiv. The midfield is really experienced, Kisielus will play with Grybauskas and Kaknevicius. I thought also about a tactic with a "real" winger (Zlobas) but I`m qiuet sure that I found the best thing now for today :)


So let`s hope that our team is ready again! And as strong as last week! Next round, we come.
