Subject: [NT] Vini_1982 and Man of Herm

Dear Lietuvan friends,

Here we are again :o)

As you already know Man of Herm and I candidated for the U21 squad. We are know declaring that we candidate for the senior NT squad of Lietuva because:

1. We prepered a project, but we noticed there was already an agreement to vote for sigitas.
Personally I was disappointed, but clearly it was a serious agreement. First of all we were thinking to go through with it, because you never know.

2. We have a lot of energy and enthousiasm to put in a NT, and we choose the U21 squad. But various Lietuva managers asked us to better candidate for the senior NT. We want to put that energy in the senior squad.

3. Man of Herm and I want to be an alternative to Sydval. We don’t promise you heaven (you are not idiots!), it will be a very hard job to immediately play a World Cup. It’s like we do
an exam during our preparation.

So, what can we offer you?

Well, you can read it in our presentation text, which is slightly modified. If I make a summary we can:

- offer good tactics by myself and Man of Herm
- match previews, match analysis, a lot of communication (helped by Pawel91 would be communication assistant.)
- honest comments on our opinion about the games, no excuses. We want to win your confidence and your hearts
- to do our best in World Cup, and improve the ranking of Lietuva

Introduction


I would like to apply for the job of NT coach of Lietuva. Man of Herm is candidating to be my assistant.

My name is Vincenzo and I am 27 years old. I am a teacher in the secondary school of Houthalen, in Belgium. I teach French, and geography. My parents are Italian.

My sokker history starts in September 2006. I immediately promoted into 5th division, and also there my team won the championship easily. Then I played 3 seasons in 4th, and 3 seasons in 3rd league. My players weren’t good enough for 3rd league, so I sold and bought a few new players. I restructured my team and this helped.

I just won the championship in 3rd division, and will play in 2nd league this season. My team played with different kinds of tactics, which often surprised my opponents. I usually get excellent results, playing with a lower rated team than other managers.”



Man_of_Herm :

“Hello,

My name is Hugo and I am 28 years old. I am studying history in the university of Leuven. I’m in my last year.

My sokker history starts in January 2006. I climbed in one-and-a-half season from 5th to 3rd division, where I won the title. I didn’t promote, my league became stronger and stronger and I fell back to the middle of the league. After 5 seasons in the same league, I wanted something else and went back to 4th division. After 1 season I returned to 3th division. The first season I became vice-champion, the next 2 seasons I combined 8th finals in the national cup with a safe 4th place.

I’m not a genius in business, but I’m creative with tactics.”




Partnership

Man of Herm and I know each other very well since several years. We live not far from each other and meet regularly. After some years of experience, it is our aim to become the managers of an important country. We candidate together, putting forward very clear objectives to the Lietuvan community:


1. Do our best at WC, improve the ranking afterwards

Lietuva is an important country in sokker. The actual ranking is a disaster.

First of all, we can’t promise to win the WC. I think we have to be realistic. We can only do our best.

When the World Cup is finished, we hope to improve the ranking.

Man of Herm and I have enough experience with (U21-) level of players in the divisions in which we played. But we want to let Lietuvan managers participate in this story. We will need Lietuvan scouts, who can support us. We can make it together.


2. Love for Lietuva

Why do we apply for the job in Lietuva? Well, as you know, I’m quite active in the Lietuvan forum since Jaseliunas has become a strong NT player. I even named my stadium after him (check it out!). I usually watch the NT matches of your country.

Lietuva is a well-known NT, with a lot of top class players. It is very important that the foundation of your future – the senior squad – is in good hands.


3. Communication

First of all we apply together, because Man of Herm and I know each other very well, and our fellowship would be an important advantage.

We speak English and French fluently, and I even speak Italian.

It is our aim to be very active on the forum, writing something about our next opponents, and writing an evaluation and comments after each game. The forum and PM’s have to become the link between the Lietuvan coaches and the community, which is of vital importance.

We would appreciate your comments on the games, tactics and players.

In order to improve the contacts with your community, we already looked for a PR - and communication assistant. Pawel_91 is ready to help us on this matter if we win.


4. Youth scouting

Lietuva can only have a nice future, if scouting is a top priority. We want to have a lot of contacts with different managers, to know which players could have a NT future. It is important to know which training players get, and how they evolve.

We are looking forward to work on it! We already promise to be active on the forum at least 2 times a week, and to work for the NT squad every day. That’s why we candidate together, to guarantee full responsibility 7 days a week.

I think you will win, Sydval was too quite in last week, if he wont start his election campaign it will be over...

I know some people want to let him finish the job.

Sydval let Lietuva qualify for the World Cup. But how? It was the most dramatic qualification ever. Was it all his fault? For sure no. But I would not have made some decisions he did.

We can't promise you to immediately do better, but:
- we can make good tactics. Personally, I would never play with 1 striker if that striker is not our best. Midfield organisation is the key to succes. We want to try change things on the midfield especially.

- World Cup will, in my opinion, be very(!!!) hard, because Lietuva did a bad qualification campaign. I don't want to lie: Lietuva will have a really difficult group stage.

- We want to improve the ranking, especially after te World Cup. We want to get time to know the team, and then do some well chosen friendlies.

13 votes already. I think Dumb is favourite, because he's from Lietuva 1st division.

But tactically he's not my favourite in 1st division.

I must admit that every NT coach should find the tactic that fits best for his NT. Hell of a job :o)
Even a very experienced tactician could lose when wrong decisions are made.

As i said, you gave my vote ;) This is election so don't give up early :) imho the chance to win is %0/50

I will do my best. I will also give a short preview of the difficult game against Polska. It's Sydval's last game with Lietuva. A tactical analysis will follow later this week.

Tactical preview Lietuva – Polska

Tomorrow Lietuva is facing Polska, the National Team with the best players in sokker. In this preview I want to show what my opinion is about Polska, and how Lietuva should face this very tough opponent. These are personal considerations, and are not necessarily the key to success. To win over Polska you need a lot of luck. Losing with little difference can be a (small) success too.



About the Polska team:

1. They have extraordinary players, on each place of the pitch. Also very high secondary skills
2. Polska usually plays with 5 top class defenders. Each wing is perfectly covered by a Polska defender. Their defense doesn’t play very high.
3. They usually play with 2 central midfielders, and 1 extraordinary winger (sometimes 2). There is some space on their midfield in the yellow spaces, in most of their matches. Their central mids attack and cover. Almost box-to-box players. There is some space when Polska attacks, between midfield and defence. An attacking midfielder could also take advantage of this to make a counter-attack.





Tactical considerations for Lietuva

a. Using a (high) winger has little sense. He would be neutralized easily.
b. Lietuva should play with 5 defenders. Playing with only 4 is a risk. Polska could even play with 2 wingers. Good coverage of the wings is extremely important.
c. If I were the NT coach I would use 2 strikers, and eventually only one striker, if Kueinskasis in good form.
d. Lietuva should not play with a high defense. Polska players have very high technique!




Tactical solutions for Lietuva to face Polska

I don’t know the players’ skills, but I have 3 options to face Polska. An option can be chosen if the skills are known. I don’t have the information so I show the 3 possibilities:

The wings are covered. On midfield there is stabilitybecause there are 2 defending mids (high defender, PM and passing). The attacking midfielder waits to get the ball and make a counter-attack, when Polska makes pressure.

Good coverage of the wings, and the midfield. A (semi-)winger that doesn’t play very high, but runs into the spaces that Polska gives away.

If Kueinskas feels good, he could play alone in the front. I could use 4 midfielders, which would give us supremacy on the midfield.

Choices should be made after knowing how fit the players are.
Of course, if I would become NT coach (but I'm not favourite), I would never post such explicit tactical opinions on the forum. Match previews would be a lot more about the country we would face, than about the tactics ;o)

It's a personal conclusion: I watched the past Polska games, I analyzed them, and did some considerations. Of course: every team can change tactic. It's just an example of how I would prepare the game.
