what the hell was this, we were having like five 1 on 1 chances to score 1 goal and when we finally did that, they needed one "half" chance to equalize :/

we conceded 11 goals out of 17 shots so far....terrible display :/

one good point is that France won against Chile, so if we win against Chile and France doesnt lose in last match we still can go through...will be very hard though

actaully we are, mainly about he movment of defenders, last goal and the missed 1vs1's :)

Yea last goal showed that forced offside dont work. well at least didnt work in this match. i was amazed how we miss chances and how columbia realized them.we managed to make enough chances but defending was poor.

well I kind of disagree that forced offsides dont work :)

I watched the match again and my point of view:
We allowed like 6 chances to score to our opponent, whose mark was higher than ours. This was mainly thanks to aggressive defense line. Yes it created a few untypicall chances to opponent, like that last goal, but generally this approach denied him much more chances that it created. I wouldnt say defending is poor, defense work was really good in this match (in comparison to the match with France), keeper is here to blame. But unfortunately except Salnikovas we do not have any top class keeper, so I dont really have that chance to try anybody else and have to rely solely on his "stayability", and it was always an isssue throughout the whole last season.

playing once again against Chile tomorrow. Situation is very straightforward, if we win we have a decent chance to qualify into the playoffs (Columbian cannot win against France) if we not, NT is returning home dissapointed.

Looking at our team, I have to say, that its probably worst situation we had so far. Several players are out of form or got injured lately. I cant count on players like Skinderas, Marazaukas, Paciunas, Meldaikis, Radis, Penauskas, Uzolas, Zlobas...players that would normally be part of starting eleven most probably.

I am not looking for excuses, still we will field a decent lineup, I am just pointing out how much easier it would have been, if we had at least half of those players ready to play.

I believe we do have a quality squad to win over Chile (we did that 2 times already) and hopefully we will go through to thet next round. At least its a thrilling group, all 3 teams (Chile, Columbia, us) have chance to qualify further.

PS:My notebook just crashed yesterday evening and I will be travelling during the weekend, therefore I wont be here to watch the game online, so I hope I will be satisfied, when I get back. Feel free to leave comments here after the match.

i don't know if i'll qualify or not now, but i want say that your are a great coach, during qualification i had great problems with you, you played very well.

you are out from WC, but i think that lietuva's users can be happy about your work

watched the game....am very disapointed, it was a close match with very few chances on both sides...still I think we were doing a bit better and deserved the victory more.

match ended as a draw, which means we are out of the tournament. there is not much more to say about that...we were missing a lot of important players (specially in midfield and offence) but so were surely other NTs as well. Our problem is that we lack the depth of quality players in the squad...with players like Miaso (injury), Skinderas(injury), Kazlovas (form), Zlobas (form) out...I really didnt have many tactical options available.

We will be playing friendlies for the remainder of the season, schedule is mostly done (except WC weeks) and after that I'll pass the chance to shine to a "fresh blood" with Lietuva's NT.

I wasnt very comfortable with the fact, that I have to face you in the WC group again...we already played twice and although you lost those matches, both very close ones. I kind of expected you will be preparing something new for this one...and at the end my feelings were right...I didnt lose against you but you grabbed the most important match and proceed further.

yes, I've just seen that as well....very promising player for next WC, if trained properly (technique, stamina, def)

as for the friendlies in the rest of season.....will try to arrange some Uxx matches or give chance to young promising players at least.
