The draw was held and we already know what the eightinals matches will be in U21 World Cup.
Let's face the current champion of the world, the best team in the world, the #1 in world ranking.
I think a normal person would be afraid of having to face such a monster in the eightfinal match, but I was happy, it must be because I have less neurons. But it's because I like to face strong coaches.
I and ostulc are the last champions of the world and so it is a match of a lot of history, since already we realized a final in which I beat him, but my total history against ostulc is not very positive. Because my unique win against him was in the U21WC final.
But I do not care about it, I'm going to give my best as well as he will also give the best of him, so regardless of the result, let's play with our heads raised and show that we can face a high level team.

Tough draw for both of the teams qualified in our group; Czech Republic for you and Romania for Slovakia. Good luck in the game, most probably you're going to need it.. :)
Luck follows who deserves it, so if i have lucky in this match it's because I deserve it. ^^
It's hard to win against the world champion, especially with a U21 in constant growth.
You managed to score 2 goals, at least it wasn't a tough defeat.

All in all, the tournament went very well for Switzerland. Of course, today's team is not with the one that won silver a few years ago.
I think Woody actually did a great job. Czech Republic was an absolutely strong opponent and we were at the limit! I mean, there are already top nations that have already been eliminated in the group stage!

We were defeated and the dream of conquering the gold medal ends here ...
Although the final result shows many goals for our rival, the result does not show how the match was.
We managed for a long time in the match to resist the attacks of our rival and even showed a lot of danger, since we opened the board with a own goal by czech defender after a great play by Reiter.
They managed to draw at the end of the 1st half with a great play but in the 2nd half we managed to do another goal with other great play by Reiter that Balz had opportunism to score.
I always say that luck is on the side of who deserves it, maybe today they deserved more luck than us, because the winger of them even with injury showed great strength of will to do great plays and make the offensive of Czech Rep make goals and put the result in their favor.
From minute 75 our team had no more energy to put up with and then Czech Rep dominated completely and made the other 2 goals that left the final result 5-2.
I'm a little sad because I wanted to give this gold medal to the Swiss community, so I decided to go back and help Switzerland in this U21WC, but I could not keep my promise.
I also will not say that we were defeated because our team is inferior, even because we knew it from the beginning, we were always inferior in squad and put that we were defeated only because Czech Rep have a better squad is an excuse and I am not a man from clinging to apologies for my defeats, we were defeated because they were superior in the match altogether.
But surely anyone who saw the match saw that we fought to the end against the world champion and showed how dangerous we are. That's why I'm even raised my head today.
Thank you to the entire community that has trained 21-year players for U21WC, thanks to the staff for the beautiful work to update our players in database and now our focus is the generation of 19-20y.

What a pity, but it was almost impossible to win against nr 1 of the world without some luck.

If someone will train pace, our best 19y GK Lorenzo Aegerter it's on sale.
As I said earlier, I would only stay 1 season to not leave the Swiss community without someone with experience for the U21WC, I wish good luck to anyone who becomes the new coach and good luck for the community for having believed in me during the season.
Woody! Thx for leading our U21 during the WC! It was awesome! We hope, we will see you here again another time when we have a golden generation ;)

some time ago you won a silver-medal at U21WC with our kids. Those are getting now 29/30 yo. So, have you ever thought about leading those players at a NT-WC? In a season there would be a good time for it!
