Hi!

What about organizing a Baltic Cup (for U21 teams) next season? (Estonia-Latvia-Lithuania-Suomi)

One group and 3 games to all teams. What do you think?

e: probably in week 10-12 or something like that.

Lithuania (basically) agreed.

Latvia also accepted my offer, so it is now up to you. ;)

That sounds very interesting but it's up to Mysi now :)

Wonderful idea in my opinion!

Been thinking about organizing something similar to this, but never done it for different reasons (mostly lazyness). :-D

Anyway this sounds like a lot of fun, can't wait for weeks 10-12! =)

I like organizing cups. At club level I have organized VIPpide Liiga (VIP`s League) already 7 seasons. Last season was official cup, but I have used many different systems. Some seasons ago I had there 32 local teams, had Plus awards, interviews and also prediction contest. But now I prefer official cup, because I dont have so much time. Perhaps in 10th season I will organize again something bigger. Maybe I go international. 64 teams would be massive. :D

No.

So, the first games will be played already next Friday!

Anyway, wanted to say that I would rather make it an U21 tournament = I will use mainly 21yo players in my fixtures. Although, imo I think that managers can make deals between each other, so you can make an U20/mixed game with your opponent(s) also, if both sides agree. The main reason, why I prefer U21 games, is that I think it is slightly too early for full U20 games, thats all. Next generation gets their chance next season anyway, so no big problem. Hopefully it is OK for you as well.

I will try to create the fixtures today, but I will probably do it tomorrow evening or most likely on Thursday.

Stay tuned!

Fixtures:

30.11.
Estonia U21 vs. Latvia U21
Finland U21 vs. Lithuania U21

7.12
Estonia U21 vs. Lithuania U21
Finland U21 vs. Latvia U21

14.12
Estonia U21 vs. Finland U21
Latvia U21 vs. Lithuania U21

Games with normal rules and with U21 teams. (PS! IF both sides agree, then they are also allowed to arrange an U20/mixed game)

Home and away teams are random at the moment (in the fixtures). Who makes the challenge first, usually also decides where the game will be played. (Hopefully it wont be a major problem, because here in Sokker is no home team advantage)

Surprise was close today, I can see. (Lithuania lost from 2:0 lead) What happened? :)

e: oh, I see, you used your U20 squad. ;P

First round is over and here are the results:

Estonia - Latvia 3:1
I would say, that it was a very hard game for us. My 1o1 situations were horrible today, but Latvia`s GK isnt the strongest one, lol... My players decided to bet on luck and scored 3 lucky goals - two of them were long shots by the way. Opponent`s through passes were quite dangerous and from time to time, my defenders acted like some headless chickens - many bad decisions made by them. Luckily, Latvia managed to score only once, although second was also close. Also low quality in passing, but a win is a win.

Lithuania - Finland 2:3
What can I say - the so called surprise was close, but Finland managed to come out from being behind 2:0 and win by one goal. PS! As I noticed, then Finland used their U20 team, but still, it seems to be an exciting football match.

League Table:
1. Estonia U21 1-0-0 3:1 (+2) 3p.
2. Finland U21 1-0-0 3:2 (+1) 3p.
3. Lithuania U21 0-0-1 2:3 (-1) 0p.
4. Latvia U21 0-0-1 1:3 (-2) 0p.

Next week fixtures:

Estonia U21 vs. Lithuania U21
Finland U21 vs. Latvia U21

Stay tuned!
