Demont [del] to All
Hello Slovenian managers,

It's election time again and I decided to take another chance in the elections for Slovenian NT manager. A lot of people will probably remember me from elections in the past, but there are quite a few new managers here (which is a very good thing), so I will introduce myself again.

I’m 26 years old and I’m playing sokker since the beginning of 2006. My team is one of the strongest teams in the Netherlands for several seasons now (top rating last season was 67.5). I've played already in the highest league before (Eredivisie) and after a very good season I gained promotion again to the Eredivisie for next season. I’m a defender trainer and I know a lot about defensive tactics, but I’m also very familiair with offensive lineups. I won a lot of matches against better teams in the past and would like to do this as well with the Slovenian NT.

Jiler did a decent job last season. He had a good run in the Mini World Cup and won most of the friendly matches, which is good for the overall rating of the NT. I’m following the Slovenian NT for at least 5 seasons now and I would like to take it over from this point and lead the NT in the World Cup qualifying matches for next season.
The main goal offcourse is to qualify for the World Cup, but I’m realistic enough to see this won’t be easy. Slovenia still has some very good midfielders and a world class forward (Adamovic), but the defence is a bit of a problem. Besides that, other countries became much stronger over the last seasons, while Slovenia didn’t manage to grow that much (mostly because there were not enough managers). Anyway, I will give my best and who knows where Slovenia can get with a bit of luck...

Results are the most important, but I would also like to help Slovenia develop in sokker. As mentioned before, there are a lot of new managers and there are still 60 managers on the waiting list. This means there will be several new users with questions and it is important to help them as much as possible. Communication is very important, not only with the owners of the national team players, but also with other (new) users in order to get their tactics right and to help them with the set up of their youth school. Hopefully this will lead to new top managers and players in the future. It would also be good if we could make the forum a bit more lively and I’ll try to play a role in that as well. With all those new managers, it should be possible to have more activity.

I’m willing to spent a lot of time on the Slovenian NT and I hope you will finally give me a chance to show my capabilities. It’s time for a Dutch manager here ;-)

Any questions, please let me know.

Cheers,

Demont

Hmmm, the only bad thing I can say about you is that you didn't want to cooperate with me as a assistant. That's why I can't support you. You are good manager and I hoiope that someday you will become NT coach.

Are you always looking to say bad things about other managers? You can send me a PM if you want.

Anyway, this topic is for questions about my plans.

I hope that more Slovenian managers get involved in these elections. On this forum, I usually see only posts from belec, čevap, Dampyros and a few others.
Where are all the other managers? What do they think about the National team and the U21? Do they want to be involved as scouts or tactical advisors? Who voted already and for which reasons?

I think that Slovenija is going to be worse and worse. This is sad, but I don't see any perspectives to change it. Slovenija need more active managers, but to reach this goal, they need determination of Slovenian users, not foreign ones.

I agree, the Slovenian users need to step up. There are 163 managers and 62 people on the waiting list, who hopefully get their teams very soon. They can all vote and I would like to know their opinions about the National teams and sokker in general...

It's true that the perspectives don't look very good. There is no growth in Slovenia. The Slovenian NT has an average rating of about 65.0 for a whole year now, while the Prva liga even seems to get weaker. At the end of 2008, pankson team had already ratings around 62 and several other teams had ratings in the 50. One and a half year later, the best team has an average rating of 57.4...

I think I'm the best option at the moment to lead the Slovenian NT and I would like to help (new) users to get on the right track.

I haven't voted yet becose i am waiting if any other managers will join the election. For now you got my vote becose i like your plans. Also i like that you have a lot of experience with deffensive formations which would help slovenian NT a lot.

Defensive helps nothing against very stronger teams, only less goals will get.

If you don't belive go to see Slovenian matches with defensive tactics what they do?

We need very good tactics(not if someone have defensive tactics then is good) and luck, and then will maybe be positive result. And we need more managers and good players.

I am allways here. :P Hey Jiller, I dont agree with you, why schould Slovenia get worse? We have invited manny players, and a new leauge will open. Why schould Slovenia get worse? I dont get it? With 4 leauges, it will be much easyer for everyone.

But you need something more than users - active users.

I agree to you, defensive tactics are not the solution for everything. Some teams are just much stronger than Slovenia and it will be very hard to get a good result against them (that's why Slovenia needs some luck as well, starting with the draw already).

But good defensive tactics can do a lot for a team like Slovenia. And then I don't only mean playing with 4 or 5 defenders, I'm also talking about the positioning of the defenders and midfielders. Scout your opponent, guess if they will play with a winger (or 2 wingers) or only central attackers. You need to block potential passing lines towards wingers and strikers with your (defensive) midfielders (this is very important and reduces the chances of the opponent a lot). And you should have good positioning with throw ins and corners.
Against the strong teams, you have to play like this and look for a good counter attack, finished by Adamovic.
Playing with an offside trap is also a possibility, but I'm not a great fan of that and I don't think Slovenia has good enough players for this.

Against the weaker teams (who will play defensive against Slovenia), I'd prefer to play with 2 wingers or half wingers. You need to keep the playing field wide. Trying to create passes which open the field at the other side and that make defenders step out of their defensive line.

wutross, thanks for your answer. I saw you just started to play sokker. Hope you like it so far, because it could be a complicated game in the beginning.

In the Netherlands for example, there is a mentor system for new users. New managers can ask for a mentor (a more experienced person) who helps them with their questions. Is there a sort of system like that as well here in Slovenia? It would be a pity if new users would stop playing in the beginning, because they don't understand everything...

That's true, you're doing a good job as a linguist and you're posting as well here. I knew I forgot the name of a more active user ;-)

And I agree to you. It's very important that the new divisions will be created as soon as possible. There are too many people on the waiting list.
More managers means more youth players and this can make Slovenia grow for the future. It's important to keep track of the Slovenian talents and make sure they get the optimal training.
For the rest, more people is also more fun offcourse :-)

It's true that i just started but it is my second time :) I was playing it for about 3 years a few years ago but i stopped playing becoese i didn't have the time.

I agree that some mentoring in the beggining would be a benefit for the new users becoes sokker is complex in the beginning.

Group G

1. Deutschland
2. Colombia
3. Slovenija
4. Hayastan
5. Zhōngguó
6. Kazakhstán

Damn, no luck at all with this draw...Deutschland and Colombia are both very strong teams (ratings over 75.0). Hayastan is at the same level as Slovenija.
Slovenija won last season already in a friendly against Zhōngguó, so it should be possible to win again and Kazakhstán is very weak.

3rd place should be possible, but it will be very hard to qualify for the World Cup...However, if I would win the elections, I will do my very best to get good results.
